    Golf for Dummies

I am a newby to the sport and just bought the book Golf for Dummies. I was wondering if anyone has any experiances with it and if it actually helped you out or is it just a waste of money, and I would be better off using it to heat the house.

You would have to think that any basic instruction books would help you out if you are new to the game. Hey the worse thing you can do is play golf with other guys who are not really that good and listen to thier instructions. If they ain't any good how can you learn anything from them Nothing worse than a guy shooting in the high 90's trying to tell you what you are doing wrong!

If you come across a copy of Golf For Dummies, in the CD Version by Gary McCord it is good to watch, and funny. A guy at work gave me a copy of it and I started to watch it but did not finish it. Seemed like some pretty decent basic instructions though.

Oh yeah, sorry about your Luck with the LEAFS Read that book because you will likely be golfing early if the Leafs miss the playoffs!
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

    Butch Harmon

Try reading Butch Harmon's book. It was written prior to Tiger's extreme successes. It is very well written with good illustrations. Excellent for the new golfer. I believe it is named The Four Cornerstones of Winning Golf.

I am abidextrous, I once golfed right-handed and now I shoot left-handed just as badly!
