?s about wedges
I have two Cleveland 900 GunMetal wedges. I was wondering if anybody has had any success in changing the lofts on these? I want my 54* to be a 53* but I am aware that the gun metal finish can crack easy with loft/lie adjustments.
As something along the same lines as the above inquiry, was wondering if it is possible to have the porting done to these wedges as well? And if so, how much and where do I get it done? I keep hearing Nomad Tour Van, but I assume that is not from around here."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

Hey Geoff
I contacted Cleveland about bending my TA1 gunmetals and he told not to bend them. He said you risk ruining the finish and cracking the metal.[FONT=System][COLOR=DarkRed]

That's what Jamie at GT said today as well. But was just wondering if anybody had decided to ignore the warnings and try it anyways. I guess you didn't happen to ask about porting gun metal wedges did you?

I've seen a few bent Cleveland gunmetal wedges. Some had a crack in the finish and some did not. With a 1* bend you'll obviously have less chance of cracking the finish than if you needed to bend it 2 or 3 degrees, but it could still happen. It's one of the negatives of the GM wedges.
On the other hand, if you don't care about the finish, bend away.... It will still play the same.

Worse comes to worse the shaft could be bent slightly in a shaft bending block.

Porting
I have seen ported GM wedges before but i'm not aware of any side affects that could arise.

You should be able to change the loft of these wedges , as they are forged, i don't think a 1° bend will damage the finish, as it isn't a shell, but something expandable.

I have also seen Ported GM wedges and didn't notice any complications of the procedure. I wasn't looking for problems, but i didn't see any when i was looking at the wedge.
