GC quad alignment

If I only want to know the carry distance, do I need to use the alignment stick? How can I make sure the ball direction is good with the default Quad alignment? I ask because I think a 2" mis-alignment could be 3 to 4 degree offline. and it can change the spin direction too?

You should always use the alignment stick after you turn it on or move it.

The stick tells the unit where you are aimed at.
