Club Makers in Ottawa
Is there a list of club makers in Ottawa? I see that Artisan Golf has retired and I may need help!

I am also curious. I want to adjust some lie angles on wedges and shorten a FW wood shaft. Thanks!

There is always GolfWorks on Industrial Avenue (if they are open during the lockdown).

I can help with most of that stuff however I am not a club fitter just a repairman hobbyist.
Regripping, shaft pulls, adaptor pulls, bending some irons( mostly forged and soft steel) shortening and lengthening golf clubs etc..
Shoot me a PM if in need.

Questions...
My friend and I have been taking lessons for years but neither of us have ever properly been fitted. Recently I was looking at the WishonGolf wrist to floor standard measurements (https://wishongolf.com/wp-content/up...oor-Charts.pdf) and it makes me think I need get my clubs bent -2 degrees because I'm 5'9 with a 32" wrist to floor measurement. I have very long arms relative to my height.
My friend is 5'10 with a 34" wrist to floor measurement which Wishon says should be correct for him. I realize this is a rough measurement and a professional fitting would use swing analytics to provide a lot more thorough guidance on adjustments.
I read this thread with great interest and now I'm wondering if I should go see Bobby or Lefty to make adjustments to my game improvement irons (Non-cast) or do I need to go somewhere else for a full fitting experience? My friend would be interested in a fitting as well.
Thanks in advance for the advice! My friend is a 13 handicap, I'm about 25.

Investing in a proper fitting is certainly the best approach. I would suggest a fitter who has a proper launch monitor in order to evaluate your ball flight, spin, AOA and who can offer different shaft/head combinations to get the most out of your swing. I am not a certified fitter. I suggest calling Rideauview as they have a Trackman.

The Marshes and The Canadian use Trackman as well. Play with a couple friends who have used The Canadian fitting program. Repairs and some adjustments I can do. Full dynamic fitting is for the Pros.

Thanks for the suggestions gents. Would Golfworks also be a good option for a fitting?

Brendon usually does the fittings there but the bay they use is filled with stock maybe he'll clean it out ..... call them and check .... you'll need an appointment anyway ....

I got a fitting at 19th tee today, they said I need to adjust all my irons 4 degrees upright. On the launch monitor (Foresite GC Quad), the toe of the club was 6 degrees lower than the heel at contact. When he put me in a 4 degrees upright position with the Titlest fitting irons the numbers were pretty much flat at contact.
My irons are Taylormade Speedblades, not sure if I can adjust these 4 degrees though.
Edit: No print out was part of the fitting and we didn't go very in-depth. I guess that's to be expected for $50. I think I may go for another fitting elsewhere.... but where?Last edited by Pastuch; 08-03-2021 at 02:28 PM.

Had an Iron fitting at Golftec today (inside Golftown), none of the lie angle changes Reggie at 19th tee suggested were a good idea. Getting wildly conflicting information from the two fittings but the Golftec one had 5 times as many options with a lot more data. Tried Titleist, Mizuno, Callaway, Taylormade and a couple other options. The Taylormade P790 was pretty incredible and had the best dispersion and flight numbers. Teru fitted me and suggested not altering my lie angle at all. We tried +2 to -4 and flat produced the best shots for me. Really glad I chose to get a second fitting but a little disappointed at the wasted time and money at 19th tee. Standard shaft was also much more consistent for me than stiff.

So in terms of fitters, I am seeing:
Kevin Haime
19th Tee
Golftec
Rideauview(?)
Marshes(?)
Canadian (?)
It seems like slim pickings currently in Ottawa..
Worth the drive to Toronto for TXG? Anyone here experience them?

One challenge with fittings, is that there is not enough time to really analyze more then 4 shaft choices before you run out of steam in any given session. And finding the right shaft for you and your swing is so important as step 1. The “perfect “approach to finding a shaft for you would take several days … and the costs would be out of this world. Bottom line you want a fitter that loves to find the right answer for you and can start with a few good choices..

A big shout out to bobbyc for amazing work. He sourced the grips (and the market is short on supplies), ensured that the build-up was equivalent to a club I had left at home, cleaned, and fixed a bad ding. The work is flawless, at a very fair price, and with an excellent turn-around. Highly recommend him for that type of work (and anything he wishes to do).

We have few choices in the area...
Golf works fitting bay closed
