Recommendations for Couples Golf Getaway
Hi all, looking for any recommendations for a three to four-day getaway sans kids but with clubs! Wife and I both enjoy the game and would fly to/from Toronto (or drive if it is close). Looking for destinations within 3-hour max drive or a single flight. Would play 3 to 4 rounds while there. Relaxing atmosphere - beach is a bonus but not necessarily required. Appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Thanks in advance - Jason

Thanks, yes saw that site googling around - was hoping to get some input for specific resorts folks have been to. Thinking I have narrowed down to Muskoka or Niagara on the Lake based on some input from our Head Golf Pro. Any additional input welcome.
Thanks - Jason

OK, so we are headed to Niagara on the lake and are looking for courses to play. Hearing surprisingly poor things about Royal Niagara. Are looking at Grand Niagara, Legends, Whirlpool and Twenty Valley. Others? Open to Suggestions!
thanks - Jason

Royal Niagara is horrible, you will do way better elsewhere even if you have to drive a bit.
Grand Niagara is the best of the bunch, one of my very favourite courses anywhere. Conditioning is usually top notch, and the routing is fun.
Whirlpool is a fantastic old Stanley Thompson design as long as it's in good shape. Well worth playing.
The Legends courses are ok. Haven't played them in a few years, but did play them every year for 4 or 5 a few years back and the conditioning seemed to be going steadily downhill.

Great thanks. Have had a recommendation for Peninsula Lakes - anyone play there?

Black bear north of Bellville paired with the wine tours in prince Edward county would be tough to beat. The price of that golf course for what you get is unreal. Play smugglers glen on the way down and you have have a nice trip

Muskoka is the definitely the best golf destination when looking at the quality of courses. More Top 100 golf courses (SCOREGolf) than any other destination in Canada. My travel agency has a few great packages available for the area, dealing strictly with the top area courses. Check them out: https://bestgolftrips.ca/muskoka-golf-packages/
