Golf Mat Size?
I was just curious what size golf mat is preferred? Is a 48" x 60" more than comfortable for most users or is 60" x 60" preferred? Thanks!

As long as you don't stand in a wide karate stance, 4*5 is fine .

I'm a little over 6 feet tall and use a 3'x5' mat. 3 feet is plenty of space for my stance.

I'm definitely leaning towards 4'x5 and think it's enough room and cost effective. Just wondering what others use in their setup. 5'x5' is a lot of real-estate and a nice luxury though.

Espresso it is not the size that counts.......
I have been going on about truestrike gel mats ever since I got one. I suggest just getting the gel section at $300ish then cutting out sinking into artificial turf. This will only be with gc2, TM and X2 etc of course

Unfortunately my budget only allows for an Optishot. My plan is to use foam exercise mats to raise the turf and cut out two slot for the Optishot sensors. That's my plan, we'll see how it turns out.

I suggested 5'x5' because the square size of the mat allows you to use 4 locations to hit over the years, rather than only 2, with a rectangular mat.

I am a lefty so I have a 10x4 mat from golf simulator guys. The most important thing is make it so you can put a bigger piece of foam under the pad then the one supplied. Giving your swingpad some cushion. I have it built up and when you step on my swingpad it will compress and and then return . works great and the swingpad will last a lot longer. I have had my optishot for 6 years and its see a ton of action. I have gone thru a few swingpads.

Agree with goatbarn. Use 5'x5' if you have enough room. It's more universal, since you can change positions if you wish.
