    Bushnell Hybrid Laser GPS

    Any opinions on this?

There's one in our Pro Shop that I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on.

Not sure if the price tag warrants it's actual value though...

What's the benefit to the GPS? The laser will give you an exact distance to the pin....GPS, not so much.

Not much a laser can do on blind shots.

How blind? Just trying to picture this scenario. If you can't see the pin, how can you go straight at it?

Are you trolling? Or seriously unaware of how a gps system is beneficial?

You have instant yardage to end of fairway on doglegs or distance to traps.

I do like a laser for pins, but that is not going to give you distance to front and back, or carry of a bunker in an instance.

Wasn't trying to educate you....trying to figure out why you think you need the added GPS feature. I've used both and I can't see myself needing GPS now that I have a rangefinder.

My mistake. Apologies for coming off strong.

It's situational. The unit is on the desk at the pro shop. It seems like a cool idea. I currently have a broken SGX. I like gps but would like a range finder.

You can still find them on eBay for near or less than that.

Heeey, I do like a laser for pins, but that is not going to give you distance to front and top rated vacuums for pet hair
back, or carry of a bunker in an instance.

    Question

I have looked at these units with interest but have always wondered about the practicality. Example, my GPS sits on a clip attached to the top of my push cart. Maintains direct line of site to GPS constellation & hence maintains a high level of accuracy (side note, my experience is that some folks who say GPS are not accurate tend to carry the thing in their pocket or someplace not in direct LOS to the satellites - not trying to spark a debate here, just an observation). Point is, I carry my laser (I use this when I want direct to pin accuracy vice general middle of green accuracy) in it's case, clipped to my golf bag.

So - if you want to carry the laser in its case (or at least in a pocket in your bag) - how accurate will the GPS be when it is not maintaining LOS to the satellites. If not, where will you carry the rather expensive unit? Anyway, I see the benefits of having both (because I use both) but wonder about the GPS accuracy.

Would love to hear from someone who has tried this unit.
