7 Wood vs Hybrid or iron

Anyone still use a 7 wood vs hybrid or iron?
Or, even a 5 wood vs hybrid or iron?
Are the fairway woods easier to hit?
Better distance and accuracy over hybrids and irons?

I have a big Bertha 7 wood ,and hit it a ton , anywhere from 200-230yrds , really easy to hit of the deck , it actually replaced the 5 wood I had , I find it very versatile , a good investment imo

Not sure , I would say it's around 2014 version

Either you can hit and love a hybrid that will go 200 ish or ya can't and don't. The 7w is next choice for this yardage and for me, much easier to hit. Not bad out of the rough either. The Wishon 929 HS matched with the right shaft and length is a beauty.

I also prefer a 7-wood over a hybrid or iron. Nice high ball flight for long approach shots or doglegs and layups where you need to stick it at a certain yardage. Easy to hit off the deck or even out of the rough if the lie is good. I have not put a 3-iron in the bag in a long time.

However, for the next club down I rotate between a 9-wood, 4 hybrid and 4 iron. All of these clubs have a steel shaft, which makes them a little easier to hit out of the rough. I find hybrids cut through the rough a little easier than a FW but the ball flight is lower. A 4-iron has an even lower ball flight, which can be useful not only on windy days but when you need to navigate some tree branches but still want to advance the ball a good distance. OTOH, you can use a hybrid very effectively for a bump-and-run around the greens - this shot is still possible with FW but a little more difficult.

Hybrids for me. #3 and #4. Provides lots of options including chipping from the rough just off the green.

I would have a 7 wood in the bag if there were more OEM options for lefties, TaylorMade no longer make them used to have an older model TM Burner and V-Steel 7 wood , very versatile and high launch. I may consider a Ping G series 7 wood next year.
