Swing Speed Test
Hi All,
New to the forum, but a golf regular for the past 4 -5 yrs.
I'm looking to get a new set of irons for next year and would like to find out what my swing speed is so i can get the right shaft.
I know golf town does but I was wondering if you can get it done privately somewhere?
thanks
s

You are going to need a lot more than simply a swing speed measurement to establish what shaft you would require.
Knowing your swing speed is ... knowing your S S. Ok, so now you know your swing speed.
If you are like most of the other sheep out there who believe or have been told by a retail establishment that, for example, an 80 mph s s with a 6i must be shafted with an "S" flex, you are being seriously misguided.
The weight of the shaft, the flex profile of the shaft vis a vis your tempo, the length are all major parameters that come into play when getting fitted for a shaft.
Your swingspeed is nothing more than a measurement of how fast the club head is travelling though at impact and does not qualify as a major parameter in the fitting process.
