Cheap Golf Vacation near Ottawa
Hi there,
Looking for a relatively cheap stay-and-play golf vacation for my wife and I within a 3 hour drive of Ottawa. Preferably somewhere nice, or where there is something to do other than golf. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

Tremblant or Belleville. Might also be some options in the states...
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

Malone Golf Club is a great golf experience with very reasonable rates but I don't know how well it ticks the "stuff to do other than golf" box.

just got back from Tremblant , picked up a 3 round pass for $225 , well worth it. Played Diable 2x and Le Geant once, both are in great shape , tough greens , super fast. That being said if the poster is looking for cheap as in cost Bellville may be the call as the lodging is less expensive. Blackbear and Trillium are worth the drive too.
Go online there are several package deals out there.

Just got back from 2 days of golf in Tremblant with some buddies. There is definitely some good prices for stay and play and many hotels. Given it was a guys trip paid for by the wifes, we opted for the Comfort Inn, not the nicest hotel out there, but it is clean, decent pool, free breakfast and prices were hard to beat.

Another choice would be staying at Round Lake centre cottages and golfing Homestead at Wolf Creek and Whitetail.

A nice trip is along the St. Lawrence between Ottawa and Belleville. I have taken a few days and played among a choice of nice golf courses. You have Brockville, Smuggler's Glen at Gananoque, Glen Lawrence and Loyalist at Kingston, and Trillium Wood and Blackbear Ridge at Belleville. Blackbear is a wonderful course and they charged me only $10 for a second round with a cart. You can have some good times along this route and if you stay in Kingston there are lots of good places to eat such as Chez Piggy.

Can anyone give me some feedback on Malone golf courses? Looking for a stay and play and it is at par for Canadians. 2-day/1-night: $257.00 unlimited golf and I am wondering if the courses are worth the trip. I am trying to decide between Malone and Calabogie's 99$ stay and play which includes: Ironwood par 3 and Calabogie full course. I was thinking play a course on drive to Calabogie (Marshes) than the par 3 course followed by Calabogie the next day. I have played both Calbogie course and know what I am getting (dislike changes to layout but still a decent course).
Any feedback or alternative ideas appreciated.

You can't compare Malone to Calabogie, Malone is far superior in terms of overall course conditions, greens are fast. The only thing with Malone, when you play your 2nd round, you have to pay for your half cart ($20 cdn when we played in July this year). Not a bad price to play the 2nd round with cart. We always take the 2 night package. There are a few nice restaurants in Malone, usually with the Malone packages, it includes breakfast at the course. We usually end up a Mo's by the Holiday Inn for dinner.

Awesome! Thanks for getting back to me. It is a sweet deal so I just wanted to make sure the course is worth it.
