i asked for some better photos and received these.

I'm voting fake but with no evidence to support it, just that picture 3 look sreally odd. Looks photoshopped to me.

The studio styles don't go for much these days so who knows. Only sign I see of a fake is that the Titleist looks a bit lopsided in the first pic but that could just be the camera angle. An easy way to tell with these is that most of the fakes didn't have an insert, just a painted engraving where the elastomer would go. The headcovers and grips were also pretty badly done on the fakes, fairly obvious from looking at and feeling them.

One sure test would be to let spackler hold it for a few seconds and if he breaks out in a rash, it's a fake.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

man, was I disappointed when I started reading this thread. I thought it was about something completely different.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Looks good to me as well. Milling on the insert is consistent with ones that I have owned.

Actually, even the real Scotties that have the elastomer borders around the copper insert were for covering up manufacture imperfections at first as it is awfully hard to make perfect, but it turned out ok and stupid customer took it as a purposeful design that it continued marketed as such!
