How much space around impact screen for bungees (pr20) ?
Hi,
I have a ten foot wide space to mount an impact screen. I was planning on getting the pr20 from westcoastnetting and mount it using bungee cords to the side walls.
I was curious, how much space you would allow on the sides of the net, between the screen and the side walls, for bungee cords?
Is 6 inches enough?
Thanks much,
Brian

Lot of unknowns here.
What are you hooking the bungees into? Angle iron? That'll reduce clearance somewhat.
Is your 6 inches clearance meant for each side or total?
My set-up is 5 inches total (2.5 inches each side) to the angle iron.
Bungees are set up so that they go outward in a "V" shape so you get enough elasticity but with less clearance than if the bungee was at 90 degrees to the impact screen.
Have a look at this for some guidance.

I don't like the top wire / turnbuckle set-up myself. I prefer bungees there as well.
Hope this helps.

I was figuring on having 6 inches of clearance per side between the angle iron and the screen. Looks like that will be plenty of space if you only have 2.5 inches per side. How is your bounce back?
Thanks,
Brian

Bounce back is a function of bungee tension. You can adjust that. I use thin 10" or 12" bungees so there's a lot of give. Main idea is to tension the screen only enough to eliminate major wrinkles.
Bounce back is not an issue.
