Extend my Scotty to 38 inch, Need advise.

    Hi everyone,
Looking to extend my Scotty Newport 2 to 38 inch with a Superstroke Belly Grip. Tried the TM Long putter and loved it but can't get rid of my Scotty. Don't have the heart to do it. Would any one know what is the tip of the Scotty putter so that I could go and buy it at GolfWorks? I'm looking at the UST Frequency shaft. I won't do it myself, as I don't trust myself to change the shaft. Any suggestions?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

You don't need to change the shaft. Just put a shaft extension in the butt end.

    The grip will cover it.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Wouldn't that Scotty head be fairly light to extend into a belly putter?

Might need a lie angle adjustment too.

    Not for a belly putter.

So my best bet is to go to Golfworks and ask them and hope that they won't screw me over saying I need this and that. From what I read, I don't think I need a lie adjustment as I'm making the club longer.

Or, you can finish it off with a cheap, authentic Scotty belly grip from one of our fine forum members for only $20

You would only need a lie adjusment if required, depending on your set up.

Do not let golfworks adjust your lie angle. I was experimenting lengthening and SD once and brought it in to them to adjust the lie a few degrees. They scored the face so bad I had to send it in to the spa to get it remilled.

Go to Don Irving instead http://www.artisangolfco.com/

You did not bring it back to GW to fix that for you? They are usually pretty accommodating. I've had them bend some of my clubs for free

They coloured in the scratch with a black felt tip marker and said I wouldn't notice. Oh, I got a shrug as well.

Shrug sucks. Ask for a refund or a credit. Speak to the general manager John O'Coin.
