    910/913 Titleist Shaft Tipping

Can one of the club fitters on here please help me out and confirm if I have this right. A new untipped shaft needs to be tipped 1/2" in order to accomodate the sure fit adapter. I want to have the shaft tipped a 1/2" from standard to get it to play like a stiff/Xstiff. Do I need to tip the shaft 1" to get the right flex and for the adapter? Shaft is a Tour AD DI 7S.

If you called Titleist they would explain that if you wanted to tip the DI 7s a half inch that you would need to add another half inch on top of that to accommodate the tip weight. So yes you would tip it an inch.

That's what I thought. Tip a full inch and then butt trim to length. With the adapter it should play between stiff and X. I'm not doing it myself, but I wanted it to play between the two flexes and was asked if I wanted it 1/2 tipped on top of the 1/2 standard.

    Thanks

I had an extensive conversation with titleist and was told their tipping has nothing to do with the surefit adaptor but has to do with wanting their 910 and now 913 line to play like their previous full bore through driver lines. If you check the 913's, the diamana shafts in the driver are not tipped at all while the phenom and bassarra are tipped 0.5 inch. I do know that all aftermarket driver shafts are normally tipped 0.5 inches but again, it's just a matter of them wanting the line to play stiffer like their older lines with the full bore through head
