Data Usage for Smartphone GPS Apps
If I want to use a smartphone golf GPS app, is it possible to turn the data off and just use the GPS on the phone or does the data need to be turned on? From what I have read, courses need to be downloaded first.
If it needs to be turned on, how much data is used for a single round of golf?
I have a Garmin GPS but we're heading off on a golf trip and the courses aren't available on it but I have found a GPS app that does have them (FreeCaddie).

I imagine it depends on the app. If the app downloads the course data offline, then you shouldn't need data while playing.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
