Protee Simulator Wishlist - Software and Hardware!!!!

Thought I would start a thread for the ProTee users to make requests, suggestions etc on the hardware and software side of things.

I would really like to see different clubs available (hybrids etc) or at least the option to create changes in name, loft etc to the different available clubs. It would be nice to have the option to adjust the club selection feature ie autocaddy to place in ones normal range of distances for various clubs. In fact if the sim could be upgraded to select the club based on clubspeed, ball speed, launch angles etc perhaps the need to change the club selection may be elliminated.

Well I don't have too much to complain about. The support is terrific and the accuracy is right up there. I haven't used the system enough to really comment yet.

However, I would like to see a different setting for the greenside bunkers and the fairway bunkers. As far as I can tell the one difficulty setting in the interface seems to affect both bunkers the same amount.

I would also like a description of the each hole when you are in practice mode and choosing a hole to practice on. A little more info would help you to select a hole to practice on.

Like Bubba said, having the system intuitively select your club based on your yardage stats, etc would certainly speed things up.

When I find more time to play, I will post more requests.

I will also ask for club selection. Like on the DD
You can define a clubset
Have several clubsets defined
suggest club based on individual players stated distances
And I really like to be able to pull up the stats for each individual club after a practice session. Again like you can do on the DD.

Hope the graphics will improve with the new red chain software?

I don't have Protee but I'm assuming most of these ideas also relate back to Red Chain itself.

I'd like to just add that it would be nice to have a large/larger indication on the minimap of where you are aiming. Right now, I can't tell if my driver (which the system guesses Im only going to hit about 240yds) will go through the fairway or not.

Part of the reason for the new Red Chain engine was to improve the graphics.

The intelligent auto caddie is a great idea. And once they get the spin cam working, it shouldn't be needed.

Goatbarn, While Protee uses the Red Chain courses like GSA, the simulation software is more open to Protee, as far as customization. You can download the ProtePlay demo and see for yourself.

My point was that Protee might be able to implement some of these requests themselves, keeping them in ProteePlay only.

Ah, ok gotcha. I figured they could do that. I hope, if they do, they don't be selfish with the changes and maybe us GSA guys can get the changes too.

Yes, the software is integrated into the ProTee software, as ProTee mentioned in his posts in the ProTee thread. It is not a GSA add on.

New courses coming for ProTee, too!

Here's what rdh said 2 weeks ago. The last time GSA got new courses, Protee got them shortly after GSA?

FYI...I've been going back and forth with red chain for a little while now prodding them to release the latest courses to Martin. They've been busy, and also wanted to wait for one new course to be finished off which should happen shortly. Then Dean will be sending a new batch of courses over to Martin including Congressional, Aronomink, Canterbury, Belvedere Woods, Del Paso C.C., Somerset Hills, and a few others. Looking at the 24 Hr. gaming site, Somerset Hills looks really nice. I know the GC2 folks already have Congressional and (I think) Aronomink...I'm looking forward to trying those.

I would like the spin camera, for sure. I would also like to be able to adjust the fairway and greenside bunker penalty, individually. Another small detail would be the ability to drop the ball anywhere where it is within the rules of golf.

How are you guys doing the penalties now?

Rough, Bunker, as well as Lift, Drag, and Side Spin. Are you taking care of side spin in the control panel curve factor or in the ctrl + shft + L menu box?

I had rough at 95%, Bunker at 75% and side spin 1, but curve factor 97. Touch the lift and drag?

ProTee has sliders in the interface program for adjusting all the variables you mentioned and more, Goatbarn. We are getting a little off topic though for this thread, though.

I just put a request by email to Protee to look at having some sort of differentiation between greenside and fairway bunkers penalties. As well I requested a increase in the greenside bunker spin based on the launch angle for flop shots. Spin cam will help this but until that happens this may help. Hopefully they respond favorably to this. I will keep you all posted.

Good idea bubba22. Does ProteePlay differentiate between fairway bunker lies and greenside bunker lies? If so, it should be easy to do.

No Protee treats all bunkers the same. I think they should be able to add penalties to the greenside bunkers but we'll see. Just a wish for xmas.

Courses look good, Bubba. It's amazing how good some of them are. I have to say that I do like "most" of the GSA courses better than Optishot. They do look better live than on the screenshots on various websites.

Did you have Georgia Peach for the DD? The Protee/GSA version blows it away.
