    2011 Cornwall Open

I'm hoping to defend my 2010 C Class title this year... anybody else going? What class? I wish we could play that course more often!

I am not playing for the first time in a long time. I found the prize table the last few years to be pretty disappointing given the entry fee and no meal. Playing the Men's Open at Cedar Glen istead this year.

What is the price and other info for Cedar Glen? What's the prize table like? Better than Cornwall? Cornwall has been going a little downhill ove the last few years, so I may look elsewhere for my labour day tournament this year.

Couldn't hit the ball on the front nine, especially off the tee, so ended up with 46. Woke up somewhat on the back, 41, but it was too late by then. Finishing with a double on the last hole didn't help much either. The only thing that was keeping me alive was my putter. The greens were terrific, as usual, but I thought they were a bit slower than in recent years...

Well, I've had a lesson a couple of weeks ago, still trying to find equilibrium with the new swing... Good news is I'm making much better contact now. The bad - I have no clue which way it'll go...

Any more results to share? A Class? I am guessing it would be a low number because the course was soft and greens were slower than usual.

I don't know about the course being soft... Fairways and rough were much harder than i remembered them from two years ago, some crazy bounces were commonplace. Not too crazy, but enough to make it difficult. Greens were slower, but not very receptive, I've had a well struck high 9 iron shot roll 10 feet uphill. The areas around the greens were fairly inconsistent as well, some shots would bounce, some would stick, so front pins were hard to get to. Overall, I think the course suffered from the hot summer, recent rains nonwithstanding.

Sorry, I should have specified... I played on Monday in the A, and the course was VERY soft due to the rain overnight and through the morning. There were a few fairways that were almost unplayable, my playing partner plugged 2 balls on greens, my high ball flight got me no roll on several drives and there was casual water on fairways.
Greens were barely running at 10.5 which is MUCH slower than the last few years.
The course normally plays hard and fast with bad bounces being very normal and front pins have always been tough to get close to, so I guess it depended which day you played...
