I've reworked my season goals as well. I'd like to get solidly into single digits this year. I'm not yet sure how realistic that is though.

At the beginning of the summer, my goal was to take another lesson from Ollson, and hopefully, finally, be a mostly 90's/low 100's guy.
I've been keeping my rounds in the handicapper here since 2008 (I'm sure I've forgotten some, oh well) and did some analysis on my own, showing since '08 my average score has gone from 113 to 101 so far this summer.
As of yesterday (at Cartier) i've shot 96 twice (I broke 100 once last summer). I think my new goal is to finish out the summer with just as many rounds in the 90's as low 100's..... with of course the bonus goal being more in the 90's.

2011 Goal: win a tournament! I couldn't care less what my handicap is.

Getting closer, shot an 83 that esc'd down to an 80, and more or less played lousy, if that's my bad game that's ok by me for now, it dropped my cap to a 11.1. I've got to start posting rounds in the 70s.
If I can keep improving my driving "stats" I think I can get there. I'd still be toast on long tight courses.

Time for the "getting close to the end of the season" check-up:
Check! I've gotten it down to 2.0 on two separate occasions. I've learned that differentials starting with a negative sign really help for this one.
Check! I've taken 2 lessons already and am planning one more in the next week or two.
Check! I was going 3 or 4 times a week before the Citizen tournament... and my vacation. Gotta get back into it.
FAIL! Given my predisposition to laziness, I knew this would be a tough one. With all of the practicing and playing rounds of golf, I just want to curl up in my Lazyboy when I get home. I admit it... I'm weak.
Check! I shot -1 at Equinelle earlier in the year. I'd like to think I can do it again before the snow flies.
FAIL! Well... I didn't have any individual +7 holes, but I ended up 31st when all I needed was a 'bad' round of 82 instead of the terrible round of 89 I ended up with. I guess I've got to improve my mental conditioning so that I can do well in back-to-back tournament rounds. I suppose the albatross and hole-in-one will have to do.
Check! He has played a few times and actually asked if we could go to the driving range tonight... and I think I've decided he's a righty based on advice from a clubmaker who suggested to go that way simply so that he would have access to a larger selection of clubs.

I'm finding it hard to achieve my goal of winning a golf tournament. Might have to set a different goal, like, scoring average of 78 in tournaments.

You could always wear a dress and try the OVGA junior ladies tournament.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

1. Make the intersectional team. Checked
2. Beat the 4 points I got last year in the Intersectional. Checked. Scored 6 points.
3. Beat 80 more often in tournament play. Checked. Still 50-50, need to work on the mental game!
4. Make the cut at the Sun Scramble in the open. Failed. The triple (Ya, a triple in a scramble....) did not help. We were -8 before it, #13 ... and finished two shots off the cut line
5. Win one of the club events. Checked.
Bonus: recorded my second ace!
Bonus (bis): May play at Royal St Georges in Sandwich in about 10 days.

I'm happy that I hit my goals of the two toughest ones I had set for myself.
My handicap dropped much more than I expected and was at 2.9 (now 3.0), down from 10.5 at the start of the season.
I thought the contending for the club championship would be an ambitious goal but with McGee not playing in it it seemed a bit more realistic but still a bit far fetched when I set it. I definitely did contend though, tied for the lead after the first and second round.
Overall, a great season, and I look forward to moving to the states so I can play all year round
Mine are:
- Handicap down to below 5 CHECK
- In contention at my Club Championship CHECK
