E6 Golf Lite
Interesting...the TruGolf website now has a "Lite" version of E6 Golf listed. It only allows 2 players and has limited options for game types, but it offers all 67 courses. I wonder how the pricing is on that and whether Martin's upcoming E6 integration might work with that version?

Very good question. That would be a nice thing. I wonder why only 2 players however?

Likely just a limitation they decided on for the cheaper version of the software. If you want to play with larger groups, you have to go with the full E6.

I see that the lite version does not list the integrated swing analysis. Can't believe that they would cut that. One of us needs to to call Trugolf and Martin and see if we get some details on the lite and the GGS integration. The GGS integration is still being worked on or is finished, I can't see why they would have to do anything extra to get it to work with the lite version.
Martin should really look into this.

Interesting that the TruGolf will also have a lower cost personal golf academy at $6995. It includes the Trutrac swing analyser (not sure if it includes the sonar launch detection), net, mat and laptop as well as the E6 light http://www.trugolf.com/golf_simulato..._simulator.php.

It's definitely intruguing...but I'm not interested with the 2-player limitation. I don't have friends over to play very often, but occassionally I have a group of 4-5 guys playing a round and wouldn't be interested in software that can't support that. Although I guess I could continue using GSA Golf for those times....

I just spoke with the folks at TruGolf. The product includes the light and the sonar ball tracking device. In fact one can also just buy the components including the floor sensors(1 1/2 inch thick and complete floor with putting), sonar/camera for ball tracking and overhead light for cheaper (awaiting on a price). Seems like a really good deal as it has club and ball tracking. Will keep you posted. The 2 player limit is a good point but I get the feeling that it is not set in stone with them.

Bubba when you talked to them did you ask about the computer that it comes with. Someone like yourself is not going to need a computer because you already have a computer that could handle anything that is out there and then some. I wonder if they have an option with and without the computer. That is a great deal I think even with the computer and it would a even better deal without a computer

Yes and that is my point. It will be cheaper without the computer and the net by about whatever that is worth?

I was writing my post before z posted and I did not read your post right and missed what you were saying, but I would not have asked if I had read z’s post. Sorry.

After reading on the trugolfs website, i dont think it will be possible.
" I have my own computer. Can I use it with the TRUGOLF™ Simulator?
No. Our computers require certain hardware configurations and contain proprietary tracking hardware. We custom build our computers with the latest Intel Processors and NVIDIA chipset Graphics card."

When I spoke with them just 2 days ago they said it was absolutely possible to use your own computer with the software. That part is not the issue it is the triangulation hardware (sonar and camera) that is placed around the net/screen to capture the ball data that was the potential issue. In the new sim they are promoting the ball measurement hardware is built into the new net that is provided. I think switching that to an impact screen would make more sense to allow for graphical emulation on the screen.

Yup, these golf simulator companies will now have to compete or find something else to sell.
Looking at the Trutrac system, it looks like club face, club path, ball speed, ball LA, and ball path are captured. And ball spin is estimated, like most simulators. You agree bubba22?

I was looking at the trugolf website again, and noticed that the E6 Golf Lite software says it has "3D Static Renders" whereas the full E6 has a "Full 3D" engine. I assume this means that with E6 Lite you don't get any moving camera flybys - just a static image viewing from where you hit the ball. If so, then the software wouldn't be (in my opinion) all that great. I really like the flybys and camera options.

Good catch. That's really disappointing. I wish them luck.

Agreed. I don't think their restricted version will not sell well.

While looking for Spring golf rates, I found a golf course not too far from me that I've been wanting to play for a while, has what appears to be a Trugolf Premium simulator with E6. I plan on golfing there on Wednesday, and I might play 9 on the simulator afterward.

The golf course is relatively new and the facilities were just completed 2-3 years ago I believe. So, the simulator can't be more than 2 years old. I hope the installation was done right and the projector is in good condition. I'm curious to find out how the ball sensors work and where they are mounted. If we start early enough, we should be able to play 9 on the simulator.

Forget E6, give me Tiger Woods Augusta. I am still drooling after seeing the graphics for this platform. Head and shoulders above any other graphics from the sim companies.

I hear you but we can't get Tiger Woods on our simulators. If the right people get together it can certainly be done, but I don't see it happening. The people at Red Chain are aiming to better the E6 on their next software. I can't wait to see screens from their new graphics engine.
