CORDURA 600 or Nylon Cordura 1000
I am now looking at buying some material for my screen and was wondering is there a real difference between NYLON CORDURA 600 and Nylon Cordura 1000....and which would be better?? the reason i am asking is I found the 1000 cheaper on ebay than the 600??/

My understanding is that cordura 1000 is heavier and stronger than the 600.

i have to contribute in on this due to my recent experience. lets just say 1000D is the bare minimum and i
wouldn't get the 600.
my first screen was ordered from a reputable supplier. it was commercial grade, but i had no idea at the time what that really meant in terms of quality. i paid about $230 for an 8 X 6. it worked fine, i had nothing else to compare it to and i had no idea what type of fabric it was.
after a month, i wanted to expand my set up and needed a bigger screen. i started reading about what fabric would work and i was almost certain that cordura denier 1000 was the one I needed. i ordered 7 yards in ebay and was hoping that I can have it sewn to make a 11x 9 screen. i paid around $50 shipped and i immediately felt ripped
off paying $230 for the first screen.
when i got the package, upon judging the box, i knew already that definitely was a different fabric from my current screen. i wasnt sure if it would do as good of a job as my current screen because it is a much lighter material and crispier in terms of feel. up to this day, i still have doubts and decided to keep my current screen.
i think cordura denier 1000 should hold up okay if you back it up w/ heavy netting behind. but if i were u go for the better stuff. im not even sure if it is a fabric. it's a wooven heavy duty nylon, but i stl cant figure out what it is called.
it's tightly wooven, soft (no noise), no seam and does not leak light. the surface is a coated to
make it reflect better picture.
