Optishot Turf Options
I know this has been addressed previously but I can not find it......has anyone tried an alternate turf for the DD/Optishot system? I am speaking with HQ about it but I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions/etc.
FYI, I am on my third piece of turf and I even reinforce the edge with epoxy before usage......my root problem seems to be the newbies who can not hit off the 'hardpan' and need longer grass to feel comfortable. I suggest tees but they are stubborn and want to hit off the grass, and they eventually catch the edge start a tear that ends badly!

Have you tried the mat from custom design. I believe Cory from par2pro is selling them as well.

Custom Design DD replacement mat
Just received the mat today and I am very impressed with the mat. It provides a little more give at impact and appears to be much more durable with the backing that the turf is bonded to. It's made very well. Thanks to CD for a good alternative mat.

Thanks for your input TV. I will probably buy the turf now. It is great to have other sim fans evaluate products for everyone. I wish DD would give us screenshots of courses to give us a better idea of what they look like. For example, I would like to see more of the Old Course.

We have tested the CDG replacement turf and love it. It has been more durable and covers more area than the stock Optishot one.
Yes, I do sell them as well - they are only $50.
I have them available on the new online store:

Happy Golfing,

DD replaced mine
mine only lasted 3 weeks, same issue i'm reading here .. i'm a new golfer and don't swing well and hit the edge too many times close to the sensors... started tearing and got worse and worse ..
DD replaced mine for free but i'm sure i won't get another one at that price.
i'll buy the replacement option next time from Cory if I can (i'm in the US)

Cheers,
