P3ProSwing Users... lets tee it off online.
Anybody want to tee off with me online when I get my GSA courses?
It would be nice to start an online golf league of some sort here. Imagine Ryder Cup style: USA vs Canada.
i can set up a very nice interactive website for something like this.

I'm not up to speed on the online play. Is it just an upgrade that comes with the GSA courses? If I buy them when the golf season is over (and the P3Pro season starts) I'd be down for playing. I can help with the site too.

That would be great. Not sure if online play is ready yet?

The GSA courses are probably a little heavier than the dd on the computer requirements. My older computer with a 256 video card was ok with the GSA and excellent with the dd. I just upgraded to a 1gig card as well as the processor and things are running absolutely perfect.

I don't know if I could join you on my Pro7, but if you get something set up and I can find the time I might try. I don't know the online play has ever been functional for GSA Golf. I know it works for CustomPlay golf (the underlying computer game that is the engine for GSA Golf) so it would be good to find out. I may email Red Chain to ask.

Online Play is included in the software. I can't answer on whether you can use different platforms (i.e. Pro7 with P3Pro) though. To be quite honest -- the online play was not tested. I did, however, do minimal testing with the LAN (Network) play when the software was released about a year and a half ago.

You could say that

chasiv what are your thoughts on a ball cam for the p3pro? It could be mounted above and give initial ball direction and angle just like the launch angle.

Not nearly as easy as the launch angle. Remember that the launch angle camera is only 28" away from the ball. To be above & behind the golf would likely be too far away for a webcam to pickup the ball well enough to do what you're expecting.
Remember that the launch angle is actually picking up the 'streak' of the ball.
I think you're more likely to see the Vector integration, or some other integration, come to reality before you'll see something designed from scratch. But that's only my opinion.

No matter how far (about 10 feet if above from the ceiling) you can zoom in to see the ball and narrow the view. All you need to de is see the streak as it goes left or right from a centre line towrds the screen. I think it is very doable, just need to convince the powers that be .

I would prioritize getting the launch inputs (be it camera or LM integration) tied into the new courses prior to adding any other ball cam option, but that is just my preference. Hopefully when that is done it is done in a way that would allow for launch (and spin?) data, regardless of the source (webcam launch package or LM integration package).

I 100% agree with you. I think the focus of the company was to get the GSA courses working properly. The standard outputs from the p3pro sensor pad has been integrated with the GSA courses very well this go around. I was assured that the programmers are working on the interface change to allow the launch data to be utalized. I can't imagine that to be a big issue, but still waiting .

Chasiv - I would love to see an integration with the GC2 so that you could get the best of both worlds. Not sure if the flash from the GC2 would interfere though.

I hope we don't have to wait too long for the LA integration, but I'm sure we will have fun playing the new courses!

Par2Pro - you should pass that along to the powers that be at P3Pro (you know who). As you know, the suggestions that come from me don't go very far ;-(

I do hope that the launch angle feature will be out soon for the GSA courses.

I hope so too for you guys. Once you've had the launch angle, you can't go back. The launch angle makes a huge difference...when you catch the ball thin with a low flight trajectory into an island green, it makes a painful difference in fact!

LOL, but there is something to be said about "false hope"

Back to the subject of online play--- has anyone explored this on the P3Pro at all? From the comments above (pasted below) it gives the impressio that it is included.

What's the status on online play? Does it work? Once I get my grass top, any day now, I'll be ready to try online play.
Communicate with each other using Skype with wireless headsets?

Add me im Skype: BenHogan23
i have been away for a week. I need to catch up with the Discussions.
To sum up how my New Year started so far:
THE GOOD:
-- Garage door opener has been moved 6 feet off center for more ceiling space.
-- Upgraded to Project X 5.5 (butter)
-- Im hitting in-to-out path consistently!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE BAD:
-- CDG grasstop broke (will be sent back for repair)
-- Hitting in-to-out is not the holy grail of golf. it draws and it is much harder to
control than a fade.

My CDG grass top broke also. I took that small piece in the front off with my wedge.
And I had just returned my courses. So, can't try online with you.

2 broken CDG grass tops may not be a good sign.

Make that three. Broke mine last week and have to make arrangements to return it. My break is at the opening next to the front group of sensors. Looks like this might be a week spot.
