Match Play Advice
Can another player in the foursome give advice to his friend who is competing in a match play ?

You need to provide more information on which of the four players are actually playing a match.
For example, if A & B are in a match and C & D are just along for the ride then if C gives advice to A there is no penalty to A, since he did not ask for it and since C is not part of the match he cannot be penalized. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

In team match play format are there any penalties for teammates giving each other advice?
Even I've never heard of me

Partners may give advice but I cannot find anything in Rule 8 that permits team mates to do the same.
In fact, if team mates are fellow competitors in the same group, they may NOT give advice (D-8-1/22) and if they are team mates in separate groups, the same (D - 8-1/22).
When our club plays matches against the Slammer Tour guys in individual matches, they help each other. Hmmmm.

I was thinking team mates = partners.... interesting...
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

So...in the Ryder Cup...the first two days, when they are playing best ball and alternating shot , the individuals from Europe, playing in the same group (ie they are both participating in the same match), are considered both teammates and partners, correct? But on Sunday when they are playing singles, they are no longer partners...only teammates, as they are playing in separate matches. Have I got that right?
