Ya, I can't just run though. I can't motivate myself to keep going. I go for five minutes, realize i'm not enjoying it, and it usually ends there. I need something with some kind of competitive aspect to it, or someone telling me to keep going.

Run up and down the landsdowne stadium a couple times and you will not have to worry about your cardio.

I have the Insane program and my wife is starting it next week. The plyometrix cardio workout is unbelievable and perfect for soccer, hockey, basketball….

Genes and calories. If you gain weight eating 2000 calories a day then obviously you need to bring the calories down.

i've been going to the gym all winter and when i swing a golf club i feel very unagile. should i lift less weights and go for higher reps? or should i put more time into improving my flexibility than i do in pumping iron?
i want to have a graceful swanlike swing, but i swing like conan the barbarian.

does anyone go to the gym during golf season? i haven't gone in like 2 months and it's because i'm on the driving range or actually playing rounds. i dont feel like i'm losing distance either.
what's an example of an ideal golf routine that balances between practice, gym and hitting the links?

Buy a home gym, save money and time. 30 minutes all you need, no travel time to and fro.

You don't need to workout 6x a week. 3-4 times a week 1 hour sessions with some cardio, stretching and strength. Just go with a balanced routine. I workout Mon-Fri 5x with weights and do cardio every second day.

agreed. I have a curl bar, dumbbells and a swiss ball along with a lifecycle and I can do everything I need at home. 30 min on the bike or max 30 weights. I mix it up with other cardio such as squash or running and for me its more than enough. I ride or run first thing in the AM and do weights at night after the kids are in bed. With 2 kids if I had to go to a gym I would never make it.

I actually met Jason Zuback on a flight from Calgary to Ottawa a few years back. Really nice guy and down to earth. Yes he is built like a brick s.h , looks like a mini linebacker ( he's not very tall maybe 6' ). At the time he did note that he has endured and lives with alot of injuries from heavy lifting. He was following a power lifting routine ( heavy , low rep ) when we spoke.
As an added bonus he signed a Pinnacle ( sponsor ) player card for my son.
