The previous shafts were too stiff so I was hitting the ball too low. And yes, I gained about 20 yards on each iron, I'm also a kid so I'm still growing so that could have something to do with it. The lofts weren't straightened, they were frequency and MOI matched as well I believe.

Outstanding Brian- getting fitted worked out well for you!
Do you know what method of MOI matching Don used?
    What ball do you use?

Thank you for clarifying this issue Brian. It all makes sense now.

I'm aware of three methods of MOI. One is the Wishon method. Which has a machine that MOI the club head. He sells club heads. The other two are not in the public domain, and, they where not mine. One uses a spreadsheet. The other is a math formula.

Smile came with 2 day school.

Attended a 2 day golf school in Virginia (just 2 students) A LOT of attention. As part of the tuition there was a Launch Vector analysis. I found my driver was all wrong...
Loft too low Flex to soft. Was launching the X1 Luc has now(8.5*)at only 9.5* but with 5000RPM's. He suggested 10.5* with a stiff shaft. I agreed with the 10.5* but could not see how 90 MPH was gonna do a stiff. So opted for the 10.5* and a VS proto 65 R and wow what a difference... picked up 45 yds carry immediately. Went to low spin graffy iron shafts also . Perfectumundo!!!!

No. Not yet thinking about doing it at the end of this season hittong the ball well no reason to mess with it mid season.

Every variable in golf contributes to a lower or higher score. Improve your clubs and the probability of shooting lower scores will result. Like a pool player playing a game with a cue that is made for his game and straight, vs. playing with a crooked house cue

I have never been fitted, but I am planning on doing so next season. Feel that my game is at the point where getting fitted will really help me lose a couple of index points. May as well eliminate as many variables you can in the golf swing IMO.

I've never been fitted either, although starting my 3rd year now I feel like I'm consistent enough that fitting will help me, plus I'm going to be buying new clubs so I think its the perfect time for it. I've booked an appointment with Don at Artisan to get fitted next weekend. I'm looking forward to that and my new clubs

I was told that if your swing is inconsistent then why get fitted?

The way I see it is that everyone has at least some consistency to their golf swing even early on, which is their 'natural' swing. A good club fitter will analyze enough of your swings to see what that swing is and give you your measurements or adjust your clubs based on that. I don't think it can be non-beneficial, just depends when you want to spend the money. If you can do it, you probably should.

    Question;

I currently have Srixon I403's and was thinking about getting a fitting. Could someone suggest someone I can go to that is good w/ a reasonable price? As well. Would these clubs be good to be fitted as in if there needs to be changes? Is it worth getting these ones changed if I plan on keeping them for the next couple years?

Go to Don Irving at Artisan Golf, he did my fitting and it was amazing and very helpful. He really knows his stuff. I had an assessment\fitting done of my current clubs, I paid $49 during the special in the fall, usual price is $79, well worth the money.

I went to Don last weekend, full-fitting $159 since I was looking to buy new clubs. I think it was well worth the money too, although I'll truly find out once I get my new clubs, hopefully soon

Are you getting swing frequency balanced clubs the Eric Cook method? Don and I both learned swing frequency balancing from Eric.

    Couple questions regarding that method.

    1) Did your clients significantly improve their scores and ball striking ability?
    2) By matching the balance points aren't you not making the whole set significantly heavier?
    3) Is the ball flight higher on short irons?

No, never heard anything about that. Just a new set of irons and 3-wood based on the fitting session that was done last week. It's already putting a big dent in my pocket, I'm sure the swing frequency balanced clubs would make that dent even bigger, hehe.

    Smile

    Question #1-yes.

    Question #2-yes.

    Question #3-No.

Good clubs fitted to the golfer, with lessons, or hitting 10,000 balls makes for game improvement.
