2010 Goals
With Spring just around the corner , it's that time again to ask... What are your goals for the upcoming season?
With my limited playing opportunities, my goals are...- To have SERIOUS fun, and enjoy every round.
- Lower my index by at least 2 full strokes. (from 6-ish to 4-ish)
- Spend more quality time at the range.
- Get my RCGA L3, and get enough hours towards my L4 next year.
- Win the NCGT Match Play title.
- Walk a bunch of rounds WITHOUT my Speed Cart. I picked up a Titleist ultralight stand bag, and I plan to use it a lot.
- FINALLY get my first ace.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

2. Play 50-60 rounds
3. Repeat as tournment champion at my yearly Lake placid golf trip (3 days, 24 guys, lots of booze!)
4. drop handicap from 10.2 to about 7/8ish
5. Enjoy each round as much as i can cause when it come right down to it, its only golf!
Should be a fun year, now lets hope it starts early!

Always a good thread..
1. To win a NCGT event again. It's been a couple years..
2. Improve my driving. It has been terrible the last couple years.
3. Get my index to around 10.
4. Try to go the whole year without shooting 90 (or more)
5. Another ace would be nice (I do have 2 so far..)
6. Golf with more forum members
7. Try to improve my "mental" game.My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

1. My average round hovers around 70* ... I'd like to bring that down
2. Join a club (most likely Hylands) this year
3. Meet some people from this forum
4. Finally hook up with Big Johnny and get that Titleist towel
5. Buy more equipment that I don't need
Cheers!
Gary

I may be a dreamer, but:
1. Shoot my age this season. 64 or 65. Have scored 63, 64 previously, while younger.
2. Win the club championship. This would mean having won club championships in 6 different decades. Was 1 stroke behind on '09, so the possibility is still there.
Otherwise, just enjoy every moment on the course, which is rather easy to do

Let's see:
get the index under 10
play more- starting with 5 rounds in myrtle in april
play and meet more of the OG members-at least 10 new ones
enjoy every moment I am on the course
break 80 at least once
win an ncgt eventI got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Hmm, goals...
1. Have fun! (should be easy enough )
2. Continue to improve my game. I got my handicap down to 18 in mid August and when I was dailed in, it was mainly my approaches and short game that held me back from going really low. Continuing to work on my fundamentals to improve consistency in the long game, and then some serious effort with regards to my game 100yds-and-in.
3. Reduce my handicap - I doubt I will shave off another 9 strokes this year, but I would be happy with anything in the 12-14 range.
4. Score my first career Eagle in a non-scramble event
5. Put some effort into understanding the mental aspect of my game... I played the best golf of my career in my first ever club championships. I would like to find a way to evoke the same level of focus I had during those rounds in both my training and more casual rounds.Wannabe Golf

Going to try and play as much as my schedule will allow. I've already been told I'll be getting lots of OT this summer with the new job, and with my wife being pregnant, it could be a limited golfing season. I really hope not though. Expectations will be low this year. I'm not going to set any goals, just go out and play.

1. Play as much as possible. Hopefully 40 full rounds plus numerous 6,9,12 holes etc after work and lots of quality range time
2. Play with as many new people as possible (hopefully many from this forum )
3. Get my index down to 15
4. Play a minimum of 7 NCGT events and improve my average score on that tour by 7 strokes minimum
5. Encourage my daughter to try golf with me
6. Be sure to never take golf for granted. Enjoy every round for what it is, savour the course and the company, stay injury free and appreciate how lucky we are.
Should all be achievable...lol

1. Break 90 again, shot an 89 for first time ever under 90 last summer.
2. Learn how to hit my clubs again, had swing weight adjusted to specs by Callaway in November. They were all way too high. The joys of OEM clubs.
3. Remember to use a strong grip so as not visit the right side all the time...right rough, right side of green, right in the trees...
4. Stay confident in my swing, after 2 eye surgeries, it's all about feel for me.
5. Stay positive, not take my myself or my game too seriously.
6. Have fun, swing easy.
7. Play rounds with forum members.
8. Enjoy all the great clubs I bought from the forum. Thanks guys.
9. Play Mississippi as often as possible this year.
10. Get an eagle.Obviously you're not a golfer.

My goal for the year: "Practice like a pro, play like a kid"
If I can do that I can achieve my secondary goals:
Make intersquad team at Hunt
qualify and contend into the final round of Club Championship
Make it through to the final day of the Citizen
Attempt to qualify for at least one RCGA or USGA Championship
oh ya, Continue to OWN my buddy Adam(adska) all summer!!
