Which 3 Wedges?
I currently have a 58 degree and a pitching wedge in my bag and I'll looking to get another wedge. I'm not sure what the best combination would be though. I may get rid of the 58 degree and go - pitching wedge, 56 degree and 60 degree.
Which 3 wedges do you folks carry?

I carry 4. PW(48*), 52, 56, 60.
Depending on the loft of your PW you might want to go with a 54 or 64 and the 60.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I usually carry a pw, 52, 56, and a 60. But the 60 is on a timeout right now. Bad Club, Bad Club, Bad Club!! Two week suspension!!
Funny though, two weeks ago the 60 was a saviour!

I carry four, not three, wedges for maximum distance control. They are:
(1) A 45 degree pitching wedge that is now bent to 43 or 44 degrees - distance range 125 to 115, no preference here as I am comfortable with any distance in this range, though 125 is a bit tougher;
(2) A 48 degree wedge - distance - 90 yards to 115, though the preferred distance is 108;
(3) A 54 degree wedge - distance - 95 yards to 80 yards, though the preferred distance is 90 yards;
(4) A 60 degree wedge - distance - 40 yards to 90 yards (this is pushing it), though the preferred distance is 79 yards.Proud member of the 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Ottawa Golf Ryder Cup teams.

If your pitching wedge is 46* or 47*, I suggest keeping the 58* and adding a 52*. I have this setup and all the gaps are filled. The 58* is more versatile and easier to work compared to a 60*.

I carry 4 wedges similar to many above. 48* PW, 53* 56*SW and 60*
Driver, 4W, 7W and 4h. 5i is my longest iron. I'm not a good golfer and I struggle with longer shots but I love wedge play and use them all during a round.Last edited by goochy; 09-14-2009 at 08:23 PM. Reason: typo

Macpesh, for me I try to gap properly by using the loft of my PW s the guide for the wedge increments thereafter, otherwise there may be gaps in your distances. So if you have a 46°pw your other wedges may be 50-54-58 or if it is 48° then 52-56-60? I beleive that Roger Maltbly explains this very well in one of his short videos. He also explains the importance of wedge length when compared to your set.

P48, 52 and 56 - I don't need anything higher than a 56 as I can pop that wedge over the CN Tower as it is.
Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.

2 wedges PW (48) and SW (60)

I'd agree with this. My 60* is on a timeout after three really bad rounds. I am only using my 52* and 56* along with the stock PW.
When it works the 60* can really help if you have to get it high fast around the green - but if the ground is soggy it really gives me fits. It is great in deep greenside bunkers or just very close bunkers.
OK I've convinced myself to put it back in the bag. Now, what to take out....

wedges
PW 46
GW 50
SW 54
LW 58
I find the 58* far more versatile than a 60*
I use the 50* least of all

PW 46
GW 50
SW 54
LW 60
I find the 60* very hard to hit it properly, I should go to a 58*
I use the 50* least of all
Until this past year I never had a 50 or a 60, I used the sw 54 for everythingObviously you're not a golfer.

I have 4 wedges also, they are 46,50,55 and 68. I love the 68 when I short side myself on a green, it's like throwing darts, comes down and stops where it lands.

I currently carry, a PW, 52, 56 and 60 like a lot of people who have responded here. I am contemplating getting my wedges fit for me next spring, to ensure I have the most effective wedges in my bag. Something to consider if you are thinking about getting new ones. They can ensure there are no yardage gaps and that you have the right distances covered.
