Favre - He's back
Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, Brett Favre is back yet once again. Unable to recognize that his talents are not what they once were, he's out of retirement having just signed a two year $25,000,000 deal with the Vikings. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle1255871/

well! Him and AP should be a pretty good set up in Minny. He will not need to throw the ball too much....and if so, it will likely be short passes.
Im excited

I just cant wait till he walks back into Lambeau field.

However, I am assuming he won't last the whole year without getting some sort of Injury

Although I have never been a fan he is at 40 a much better quarterback than a whole bunch of them out there. And although he will throw the odd pick his last year stats are excellent.

He can't throw a good 40 yard bomb anymore, I watched that in person last year. But he'll be more then functional in that offense. Give it to Harvin, give to AP, and just watch them run.

yep....AP is always a good pickup in fantasy leagues....I imagine he will be even more powerful in fantasy leagues this year!!

I think Rosenfels is a better qb than Favre at this point in his career.

Favre is just tempting fate, no major injury in his career to date.....can anyone say torn mcl/acl, seems to be a trend to start the season the last few years

Agreed, Favre at 40 is not nearly as good as Favre in his thirties, but is still way better than what the Vikes have had in recent years. Fran never threw that long either, and he was pretty darned good for a long time. Favre will improve this team.

With Favre, I would say that Minny is a favorite in the NFC... Go Vikings!

Doesn't take much to be a favourite in the NFC. I can't get over the massive disparity between the conferences.

I remember the part of that domination that was a result of the Bills' miserable Superbowl record. The words 'wide right' make me die a little inside every time i hear them

you just summed up almost exactly what they said about him before his jets season....we all know how avg he was and started ok...then faded away with incompletions and picks from bad throws...there is absolutely no reason it will be any better with vikings.
i think when he finally retires and hall of fame comes calling...the loyal packer fans will no longer want him to retire in their jersey...he was a hero to me once...now its pathetic...

He should have stayed in retirement and kept his dignity. With the exception of one solid game, he didn't do much for the Jets considering his price. He'll do two things though:
1. throw more interceptions than TDs.
2. Get injured.

Well, signing Favre, Ok but forking out 12 mil to do it, yikes, I would come out of retirement too. It is obvious that he always wanted to sign and was just waiting for the training camp to be almost over before coming back. He looks 50 not 40 and does not give a hoot about anybody but himself so it will be interesting to see how things develop there.

Favre is proving everyone wrong. He's playing remarkably well and his QB Rating reflects it. He's not just throwing short passes either. He can still throw a rocket with accuracy.

Yep, I'm eating crow. Have to admit. The shoulder really was bothering him last year, it's evident now. Glad I have him on my fantasy football team and he was starting because Matt Ryan was on his bye week. Great timing! He didn't get sacked or even touched last night. Minnesota is a very dangerous team.

I still want to see a whole season out of him, but he's playing well for sure. Having AP and Harvin sure isn't hurting either, the Vikes are a very good team.

Unfortunate that the jets don't play them this year.

Could be the super bowl matchup. Lot of potential intrigue for the super bowl. The Manning bowl. The all-New York bowl. The one-year Favre Bowl.

You have to be impressed with the O-line performance last night. I didn't watch the whole game, but they were showing one play where he had almost 8 seconds to throw the ball. Even if they're only rushing 4 guys, it's impressive that they were hardly letting the D-line past the line of scrimmage.

wowow. I was shocked how well Favre played last night. I know a couple Vikings fans who were very annoyed that they picked him up this year. I guess they are quietly pleased with how #4 if playing right now.

Makes you think that San Fran could be for real too. They play my Falcons this weekend, I'm a little afraid.

Favre is playing great, but the Vikes havent really played any decent team to this point, except for Green Bay, but even they were beat up bad. Still the Vikes have improved every week, just like Favre. (Best start for Vikes was 1975, when they went 10-0 )

I had the Vikings winning the NFC but the Giants are still really good. Saints have been awesome early...
