Best Round of the Year....
In the spirit of some of the "Best of" threads that have been cropping up lately I'm wondering what everyone's best round of the year has been.
I know a lot of you have posted not only Best of the Year type rounds, but Best in a Looong Time rounds or Personal Best Rounds.
What say you??
Personally, I shot an 84 last Saturday at Irish Hills which included 2 triples. Rounds with 7 pars, and 2 birds are pretty much unheard of for me so this one came as a complete surprise, especially since I was at the range on the Tuesday before and hit 25 consecutive "s-word" shots in a row
At the start of the year it was a struggle to keep the score below 100 (Shut up Indio!!) But even though it has taken the best part of the summer, it seems that my lessons are starting to pay off 9 of my past 11 scores count towards my cap which has dropped close to 5 full strokes since the middle of July

I too had 7 pars and 2 birdies on Sunday at LVM. But ended up with 89!!! Still seaching for answers on how I shot +18 on the other nine! I still feel LVM will yield my best round this. Will report back in few weeks

Personal bests were made for me this year. A 74 at Predator from the Men's night tees (a combo of blue and white tees) and -1 for the front nine at Talon, also from men's night tees.

A 74 from the back tee in North Carolina. (sweet 0.0 differential for that day) and ... today ... a 72 at my home club. I am having a great year! And it all started with a 76 at Malone end of April (after an 82 and an 89).

81 is the best I played at the Meadows, finished bogey/bogey from 100 yds out from the green. doh. Played ok that day, scrambeled a lot and definitely wasn't my best but the result was good.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

My best round was probably a 75, which won a long standing tournament at Renfrew earlier this year. I hit the first 11 greens in reg and 15/18 total. It wasn't so much the score, but the fact I was able to do it completely destroyed. After a double and a triple in the last 6 holes, I had to finish birdie par to secure victory, and I still can't remember playing those two holes.
As far as scores go, I had an even par 70 at Mountain Creek last week, and a 74 at Whitetail which I've always found to be a really tough course.Let's put a Smile on that Face!

Sounds like a tournament I would have enjoyed!
Haven't been able to break 90 yet this year, sooooo close though. I have an 80's player in me just waiting to get out.Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974

I had an 87 at Nation this weekend which was my 2nd best round yet behind an 86 earlier this year at Casselview but that 87 came with two triples on the back 9 which killed me or I would have had the best round of my life. Next time I guess.

Most memorable or best?
My last round last Sunday is certainly my most memorable; is it my best? Possibly. I'm a mid-handicapper and I shot 38 on the front 9 at Rivermead, where I'm a member. That nine included 3 birdies, 2 pars and some crappy stuff. It's the best 9 holes I ever played in my life. For the back 9, I shot... 50, for a grand total of 88. Life sucks!

An 84 at Anderson. But that is a pretty easy course. Otherwise game gone south, due to lack of play

Well, August was good to me, something just clicked and my cap went down 3 points to 17. Had three rounds in the 80s, culminating with a personal best of 85 at Cartier, and worst round at 92. Next round at Talon started with a promise (40 on the front), but then the wheels fell off and I finished with 51 for a total of 91. It's funny how I would've been ecstatic with that score a couple of months ago, but now it was a disappointment.
All in all, very good year indeed.

49 rounds, lowest score 79 (anderson with no escapes, all pars and 7 bogeys), worst score 99 (val des lacs), average score 88.2.
80 at the Marshes with a triple bogey on 18 .....
Best rounds were 79/80/81 at Eagle Creek (including escapes).

My best score was 78 at Stonebridge, but I'm struggling with the flat stick this year, and actually had a season high 40 putts on Sunday. Too bad as I feel that my ball stricking is decent, just not showing on the scorecard.

My guess would be it's his word for Equitable Stroke Control which bears the acronim ESC, or perhaps "escape". A new term coined here!

The best that I have done lately was a 39 on the front nine at Loch March last week.

82 at Mountain Creek, and that was with an OB drive on #9. I was +3 on the back 9. I felt relaxed and totally in control.
If I can somehow break 80 once this year, I will count it as a successful season.Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team

This morning's 3 under 69 at The Highlands Golf Club in Bradford was my best this year. 15 pars and 3 birdies did the trick.

I played there on Monday, august 10th the day after the nasty storm. The course was so beat up the front 9 was closed due to all the fallen trees and debris, #10 was flooded and the clubhouse had lost shingles. We played the back 9 twice and when we finished it was 40 degrees but I had a blast anyways! Decent track.
