Sakic Retires
Another class player retires. Seems like the NHL can't replace leaders like Sakic, Yzerman, Gretzky.
"Get your smile on!"

A sure fire first ballot hall of famer, always enjoyed watching him play. A class act that many in the NHL should copy. Hope he gets a role with the 2010 Olympic team.

A lock for the HHOF if there ever was one. One of my favourite players of all time. One of a rare breed. A great leader. A laser of a wrist shot. 2 Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe, Hart, Lady Byng, Pearson, World Junior Gold, World Cup Gold, World Championship Gold, Olympic Gold and Olympic MVP.
I know there's not a lot of Bob Cole fans here, but I still get chills every tome I hear the call of that gold-clinching goal.
"Joe Sakic scores! And that makes it 5-2 Canada! Surely, that's gotta be it!"
Congrats on a stellar career Joe. Enjoy retirement. You've earned it.When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.
