Good to hear that the wife and yourself are okay. Hope the court process ends on the 19th for your sake.
I'm still waiting to appear in court on May 22 for an incident that happened at the Chateau Cartier last season. The guy I pressed charges on had a previous criminal record and the court date keeps on getting pushed back.

Sorry Chris---yes there were 4 sons and the father. The oldest son is the one being charged with assault and battery---the father (the one that got me) is charged with a minor offense--laid by the police. This is being handled differntly because they are using my testimony and pictures only (apparently Diane is not considered an objective witness because she is my wife). No one else was there at that moment--they showed up just as I was geting to my feet. The second son, the youngest was involved-- but for the most part he was trying to pull his brother off. The third was busy calming his father down. As for the fouth---all I know is that he was there but was not actually involved with the fisticuffs.
As I said previously I'm OK--the bruises healed. All I'm really interested in is justice for the Assist. Starter and to see two bullies get what they deserve and it looks like that will happen.Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Dan--I think that is why the Starter would not drop the charge--he is waiting for the guilty verdict first. I'm not going to persue it---just tell my side of the story and hope it helps him.
When all is said and done and you get to sit and reflect---you hope that this kind of thing dosen't happen again. It escalted so quickly--your mind can,t really get around it.
As I sit here and type this---a HUGE tractor just went by ploughing the beach---they are getting ready for the turtles to lay their eggs---they soften the beach for them----OH to be a turtleDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Continuance
Hey guys--sorry for the delay---got a phone call at 7:00 am Thursday--defendant got a continuance. His lawyer knows we leave on Wenesday. The state patrol has asked us to go before the judge and make our statement before we go. Not sure what will happen now. Apparently it made the newspaper--missed it.
Oh well--one last game on Tuesday
Will pray the weather keeps improving up thereDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Did you ever hear what the final outcome was?

Hi Fred---was wondering the same thing myself. I checked back a month ago and the defendant got another continuance. Will send an e-mail this evening and post as soon as I here.

Finally
Guilty on both counts !!
Fined 5000.00----lost his job---jail time served---and no chance for appeal !!!!!!!
Was offered an anger management course to be completed in full---prison tour and to appear and offer personal apology to plainteff and plea would have been exponged.
He refused and the judge went nuts and threw the book at him !!
Kind of gives you a feeling of power by being patient Chalk one up for the good guysDoes the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Glad to hear such a good outcome. It would have better to have some prison time added, but at least it turned out well.

Nice fine, Jail time would be nice though. Seems he isn't too bothered about it all.

In light of the offence, this person's refusal to take an anger management underscores the likelihood that he will reoffend. This will not be the last time that the justice system will be seeing him.
