I was going to go with an HTC touch, but it doesn't have the WiFi option.....that was key for me as it let's you avoid a huge data plan. Although Telus now has an unlimited datapackage for $45/month

I've used the Rogers Touch, it does have Wifi. Great device, depends if you've used other pda's before like a Blackberry. It is a nice device, depends what your needs are. I do like the Samsung Jack if you are looking for a Windows Mobile device.

The HTC Touch on the Bell network and service plans is not considered to be a "data device", it's still considered a phone with web capabilities, so you don't get sucked into the big $70+ a month service plans. You can still do most of the same things as a Blackberry, but limited email I think.
I was thinking of getting one myself and this is the info I got from the girl at Bellworld in St. Laurent. Apparently it rates respectively higher than the iPhone in most telephone related functions (as per some PDA magazine).
If you get one before May 7th (when my anniversary date is up) let me know how you like it.

Doesn't Bell have Unlimited mobile web and text for $7/month, or something like that right now?

i played around with one for a bit, was thinking about getting one. bell had this promotion unlimited web / email for $7 for only that phone. Hoolio is right. thats what got me thinking about the phone. but i dont like using a stylus. thought i could type like an iphone, but it isnt the same. i much prefer the iphone. i have an itouch and i much prefer typing on that.
its a good phone if you dont do alot of email. or you dont mind using a stylus.
hope that helps.

OK, I think the $7 upgrade is available on all phones and smart-phones but does not include data when tethered. So you should be able to add it to the touch and enjoy whatever browser that phone has.

The $7/mth promo was for web, but no downloads. You could surf the web as much as you want and not pay extra for the data rate as Bell doesn't consider the phone in the same sense as a Blackberry. You just can't download pictures onto it etc.
Which makes me wonder, what good is surfing the web if you can't download pictures etc, isn't that essential to the page itself?
