One of the best (if not the best) Masters final rounds I've ever seen....

    Congrats to Phil!

When Ernie eagled 13 and then Phil birdied 12, you could just see what was going to happen.

I thought that the '75 Masters with Nicklaus, Miller and Weiskopf duellng to the end, and Nicklaus in '86, were exciting, but this was better.

Great stuff, from Mickelson, Choi, Els, Wertenburg, Garcia, Harrington and Triplett.

    Bring on the season!!

Quick trivia question here (no, I don't know the answer) Have two different left handers ever won the Masters in two successive years?

I think the only lefty to win a Major was in the British Open. No lefty had ever won the Masters before Mike Weir did it last year.

    Phil

I'm happy to see him finally win a major. I'm sure that this will get a lot of people off his back and I'm sure that the media will treat him as a favorite to win the U.S. Open too!

Only 3 lefthanders have won majors - Bob Charles of New Zealand won the British Open way back in the 60s I think, Weir and Mickelson the past 2 years at the Masters.

It was certainly nice to see Phil finally win a major, if anyone deserves it, he does.

However, there were a couple of things about his acceptance speech that were somewhat curious.
For one, I thought he could have given a nod to "Bones" for carrying his bag all these years, and secondly, Phil refers to his wife as his "life partner" ???

This is the kind of politically correct B.S. I would expect to hear from Tiger, but not from Phil.

In fairness (although I totally agree with where you're coming from), Phil said he had a wonderful life partner in his "wife Amy". He thanked his caddy at one point, but only very briefly, at least in the indoor presentation of the green jacket.

But in general, I agree, this kind of politically correct BS is ridiculous. I guess I'm estrogen-challenged instead of being a man now.... :shake

Rehil' s speech and his use of "life partner", I also dislike this politically correct BS, although I'm sure we've all given speeches where we've run on and used some interesting terms. Oh well.
Phil was obviously very excited that smile of his probably won't wear off for awhile, was really glad to see him finally win a major, although it's too bad Ernie had to lose after such a good round(4 good rounds). Definitely a Masters to remember, some wicked eagles, KJ's on Sunday, Padraig and Kirk's hole in ones on #16, and of course Phil's putt on the final.

That was a really exciting masters. Ernie pushed Phil to the limit. If Ernie had won I don't think anyone would have called Phil a chocker. At least I wouldn't have. Everyone made shots and putts down the stretch. Great for golf.

Lefty credits his success iwth playing a fade. Just a thought.

Hats off for Phil! Great clutch putt on 18th. I am happy for him and now I hope they will stop nagging him about not winning a major and being in Tiger's shadow.

What about Tiger Not to impressive this year. Anxious to see him back on his game!

We used to sell LH clubs 1 out of 10 or 12 times. Now it is getting closer to 3 out of 10. The invasion is coming...Golf is turning into Sinistralia.
