Sens new jerseys
what do people think? Love? Hate? Indifferent?

I don't mind them but a bit plain though. Still not crazy about that logo though.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Pretty nice actually. I wasn't a fan of all the stripes on the arms and around the bottom of the shirt before. This new design is a step up in my opinion.

I agree that it is a little plain. The new 'edict" about no horizontal stripes at the bottom of jerseys is going to annoy some of the Original Six teams to be sure.....

Just wondering why the new Jerseys? Is there some reason other than selling gear to a saturated market? Seems to me they sold a ton of Sens gear during the playoffs. How many fans will buy again just to be current?

they are the new Reebok uni's, the pants, socks, shirts are all designed to be a bit more form fitting, etc. I believe the all the teams will sport the new jerseys, though not sure they will all have a new look.
According to the team president, there is very little margin on $200 Jersey's and $30 baseball caps.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I find that very hard to believe.. Often the mark up on soft goods in around 100%.. I would have bet the markup on the jerseys is at least that or more..

According to Roy Mlakar on Team 1200 yesterday - that is what he said. I found it hard to believe as well. The new professional jersey's they are selling are going for $300 with the basic ones going for around $100. How much can it cost to make one of those Jersey's? And don't get me started on the $30 baseball caps.

Sems like a way to get more money from the fans. I guess since everyone has last years jerseys sales would have been pretty slow this year without a new design.

I guess hockey is following the marketing ploys of other sports i.e. soccer whos teams change their jerseys almost every season , purely for profit
At the end of the day ... It gets dark

It looks like the NHL has a new agreement with Reebok which meant that the CCM jerseys needed to be replaced. All of the teams are getting new jerseys with 5 or 6 tweaking logos. Also there will be no third jerseys this year. The guy from the Sens on the radio said that they had been working on this design for close to 2 years. I think it has as much to do with contracts then it has to do with selling new stuff (although that is always an incentive)
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Just a money grab. I will stick with my old original sweater.

not only the logo but the whole shape and style of the jersey itself. The original ones they debuted last year were even tighter, kinda like football jerseys are now. they looked a bit silly and I don't think the players liked them much.

well he is lying then,
I used to be inthe business. the hats coem form hong kong and with a landed cost of less than $5.00, well you do the math, there is plentyl of mark up on a $30 hat.
and the jersey, well I guess if over a %100 mark upis not that much then he is right
teams make money on marketing it is a fact, why woudl he try to huide that, justa admit it, nothign wrong with making money,

Exactly, nothing wrong with making money!
One could argue that through apparel sales in last year's playoffs and the pending sales of the new jerseys, the Senators have benefitted greater in this time period than they ever have from apparel sales.
Won't it be nice to go to Scotiabank Place and be amongst a sea of Ottawa jerseys, be they old or new style, rather than being overwhelmed by blue and white?www.chapeaunoirgolf.com

Quite a bold statement calling the President of the Sens a liar.
If anyone wants to order your new NHL REEBOK SENS JERSEY then here is the link and the prices are clearly marked. Get them while they are on sale! I might just have to order up a Sharks Jersey, with #19 on the back!
