Nah it was not that good of a call Geoff. Same matchup as last year and same results. Big Joe set up the series winning goal. I will admit Big Joe didn't go like he should though, he needs to pick it up in the next series.

As for my Pens pick, I did that to wind up the Ottawa faithful. I knew that Ottawa had the better team, all they had to do was come to play. That they did.

No need for you to eat PIE today, I'll let you off since I am such a great mood

Here's the real question. Are you still up at 540 am after a night of crazy celebrations, or did you decide to celebrate your first day of freedom with a nice, relaxing, 530 wakeup?

I am still on "DAYSHIFT MODE". I wake up early.

Funny thing is, this habit started last May after my heart attack/by pass surgery. You see every morning before my midnight nurse would go home she would come wake me up aroun 5:30-6:00 AM to check on me. When I got home from the hospital that habit carried on. It is not my choice let me tell you.

Hopefully I can reset my sleep clock now that I am retired. My part time job I start on May 1 requires me to be there at 1 PM. Then again, those early tee times require being out of bed early

Makes it tough to stay up late and watch the Sharks when they are in THE TANK

PS. I did not go out and "Celebrate" my new found freedom. Went out for supper with my wife, then we went to Fore Golfers Only. I now have my eyes on a Scotty.

    GO SHARKS GO

Hey, I think most folks around here would argue that dinner and ogling a scotty counts as celebration.

And on a hockey note....Go Flames! Show them Red Wings who's boss!

    Hey Jeffc,

In the pool it is not the one that starts fast that wins. Check the standing now and then check at the end.... big difference...

    My predictions:

    Detroit in 7
    Anaheim in 6

    Buffalo in 5
    Ottawa in 6

    Thanks...

    7-1..damn Calgary

That means no changes to my eastern bracket: Ottawa in 6, Buffalo in 5.

As for the West, as much as I would love to see Vancouver make it through, I have to pick Anaheim in 6, and I am sticking to my assertion that Detroit is not that good a team, and will take San Jose, also in 6.

    SHARKS IN SIX
Are there other series being played?
If the game plan for the Sharks works out, Dominik Hasek is going to have so much traffic in front of him he will think he is on the 401 at Rush Hour

if you like. Van will likely win 1 at home so make it Ducks in 5. Luongo will steal that game.

Not too bad up to this point:

    9-3 in calling series winners

Had a great first round, 7-1 with only Nashville letting me down.

7-1 in first, 3-1 in second (detroit has buggered me up both rounds, but I still say they aren't very good)

3 for 4 in the Semis...not bad, 11/12 overall. I thought San Jose would put up a better fight. Guess I have to rejig the west. Anaheim over Detroit in 7.

I'm 8-4 in total up till the Conference Finals with calling 3 series' right in games played.

I didn't get my Round 3 picks done on this site but they were posted on my home site.

    Round 3

Ottawa vs Buffalo - OTT in 4 (no joke!)
Anaheim vs Detroit - ANA in 7

Before I forget, Ottawa will win the Cup in 5 games vs Anaheim.

13/14 for the playoffs. Unfortunately, I called the Sens to lose in the finals, though that was before their big run. I won't change now for fear of jinxing them, though I did say in another thread they would win in 6. I don't really care how they win, just win and ignore my silly predictions.

i have posted this before, that i predicted Ottawa/Anaheim at the start of the playoffs, didn't call any particular series however. I was hoping i was wrong about Anaheim, that team is really the only one that scared me from the west. They are big, fast and Canadian... not a good combo for the Sens, but i predicted Sens in 6, so that's the call!
