Hey everyone. I'm in the process of a designing a garage to be built at my home which we just bought. I'm running in to a problem that maybe some of you have a suggestion or contractor to reccomend. When we got the home we did purchase plus improvements mortgage, meaning I have about $20,000 for improvements on the house, aka a garage. The money is held in trust by a lawyer, who releases the full funds once the structure is built and inspected. My problem is that no one will built a garage without upfront payment, usually its 1/3 x3 during the process. Does anyone know about going about this? I don't really have any money to put up front as all of my savings are gone from the down payment. I'm in Brockville, so maybe someone will know a contractor that can work with me in this area.
