Not a chance. Talk of extension of the order until June 2nd or 3rd.

Not optomistic either, no golf or other outdoor activities until kids go back to school. So golfing early June (fingers crossed) or end of June, when school is officially over.

I think the Govt will give in and open certain outdoor activities that are inherently socially distant in nature such as golf and tennis. The combination of public pressure and the overall civil unrest will turn against him quickly and will cause a lot more problems than he already has if the order is extended. My gut feeling is that we will be golfing by May 20th.

Ford himself is making the announcement today. They've been in damage control over his image since the presser he did from his home (or his Mom's house I forget). The fact they'd bring him out to deliver bad news, there has to be some underlying good news he's gonna deliver and I'd put a good bet it'll be outdoor recreation amenities.

I have been consistently wrong hoping for positive news previously so I will vote that Ford will not be reopening courses today (and hope I am wrong once again!).

I heard a rumor that as soon as the Maple Leafs get finished in the 1st round of the playoffs , the golf courses will open....
At the end of the day ... It gets dark

I found it comical where he said if we stay the course we'll get the summer we deserve for July and August....who wants a two month summer? The last two years we've had nice weather since the end of March/beginning of April and we are expected to stay in our homes as there isn't anything to do outdoors!
The word was no outdoor activities until schools re-open, but schools won't re-open for a month or so. So the wait will be until schools are done at the end of June.Last edited by Big Johnny69; 05-13-2021 at 01:41 PM.

I was too. Unbelievable that they won't even open public sport spaces like basketball and tennis.

Its a zoo already… nothing against people going to see the tulips (some with no masks not respecting social distancing) but the hypocrisy and unfairness bites.

I found it particularly offensive today when Doug Ford bad mouthed golfers, saying we congregate around each other after rounds, and generally abuse the privileges of playing during the pandemic.
Those were anecdotal comments at best, and sophomoric at the least.
Would he say the same of Paramedics who stop on streets to hug, yes hug people cheering on Essential Workers, as I witnessed these Paramedics doing in Ottawa...
Martin Patterson of the triumvirate golf course group said it best today when he was interviewed on CBC Radio, he said, maybe those are Doug Ford's friends hanging about parking lots, they certainly aren't the golfers Martin and I know.
