Yep, golf is closed effective at midnight tonight, Elliott announced it during the press conference. With the stay at home order extended 2 weeks, looks like we won't be golfing again until around 19 May. Similar to last year.

Not really cause they will be stopping all cars coming into Quebec. Its crazy closing golf courses.

The inter-province border checkpoint will be setup starting Monday so there is chance for last round this weekend on the Quebec side

I don't get it,big box will still allow max 25 per cent inside where ventilation is not ideal..outdoors golfing where we will be distanced once on the fairways is a no no..sensless

I'm thinking all courses are fully booked from what i have seen. Crazy times and golf was one of the only things that kept us sane at this time. Be safe everyone and it sucks but we will get through this.

You're only suppose to cross borders for essential needs. Don't get caught in the course parking lot with Ontario plates it could cost you $1500

It was full with Ontario plates since it opened, even with the stay at home order.

Is this a fact? Got a tee time tomorrow, if I'm going to pay $1500 for a round of golf I'd rather it be at a nicer course!

This will be a cash grab for the hungry Surete du quebec and gatineau police. They enjoy pulling over Ontario plates during non emergency times.....This will be a field day for them. No way will I take a chance crossing the border.

Koko Koko. Isn’t the city of Ottawa just as hungry regarding parking tickets and the likes? The Police here is not after people from Ontario. Now if you’re going 75k in a 50k zone you can bet they will go after anyone no matter where they’re from.

Good for you, but it's not a matter of taking a chance, but to respect yourself and fellow citizens in Ottawa and Gatineau so they don't end up sick or dead.

As much as I hate it, I don't think Doug Ford had a choice. He couldn't impose tighter restrictions and let golf slide. I think the courses did a wonderful job in spacing tee times, eliminating touch points etc. It was probably one of the safest activities to participate in. At least i got a few rounds in prior to this lockdown.
The few courses and driving ranges that opened early at least saw some revenue...the ones that were slated to open this upcoming week will be behind the 8 ball again to start the season.
