Synopsis of rule changes
I received this from my father in law so don't freak out if they are not 100% accurate, I just found these to be very interesting:
Rule 18 Now 3 minutes to search not 5
Rule 7 Ball Moved while searching - replace - no penalty
Rule 16 Replace embedded ball anywhere - free drop
Club length definition - longest club not putter
Rule 14 Must drop from knee if not re-drop - no penalty
Rule 13 Wrong green - cannot stand or stroke from the wrong green
Rule 11 Ball hits player or equipment accidentally - no penalty
Rule 10 Double hit - no penalty
Rule 12 incidental touching sand but not on line of play - no penalty
Rule 15 Touch loose impediments in hazards anywhere can be removed - no
penalty
But if ball moves it must be replaced and 1 stroke penalty
Rule 19 Unplayable in a bunker - added relief drop ball behind bunker in
line with ball and hole - 2 strokes
Rule 17 Penalty areas red or yellow stakes are now penalty areas
can ground club on ground or water
Rule 13 Ball moves on the green after mark and place - must now be replaced
Rule 13 Accidental movement - no penalty
Rule 13 Repairing damage - all damage can be repaired
Rule 10 Cannot lay club on ground to line up put
Rule 10 Caddy cannot help putting line from behind
Rule 13 Hitting the flag stick in the hole - no penalty
Rule 13 Ball wedged between flag stick and hole is deemed holed if any
part of ball is below lip
Ball lost or out of bounds relief in the vicinity as far out as the
fairway - 2 strokes
May change balls when taking reliefLefty Lucas
I am abidextrous, I once golfed right-handed and now I shoot left-handed just as badly!

This isn't a rule change per se, but clubs can implement it as a local rule in certain locations (or all locations).
Kinda like using a GPS or rangefinder. Not allowed, but clubs are allowed to have a local rule to allow them.
And only if you don't hit a provisional. If you hit a provisional you can't take the relief described above even if there is a local rule.Make your golf leagues GREAT with the "golfscoring" league system: LIVE scoring on your lounge TV, handicapping & lots of other features. PM me to learn more.
