    Club change after getting relief

Is it legal to change clubs when you are taking relief from a cart path?
A rules official once told me I could use my driver to take my stance then once relief was given switch clubs.
I thought you had to take your stance with the club you were going to use?

You should use the club you would have used if the interference was not there to determine the nearest point of relief.
You may use any club in your bag to measure the one clublength.
Once you have dropped the ball correctly you may now use any club to make the next stroke.
