    Cutting a Cameron - Thoughts?

Thinking about cutting down my Newport 2 from a 35" to 33.5" or 34" (haven't decided yet). Been reading up on it and some say "Go for it" while others say "Never". Anyone have any experience shortening there Cameron on here? How'd it go? Will taking an inch off the shaft really mess with the weight and balance of the putter? Thanks for your input.

Is it a newer Newport 2? Because you can always put heavier weights in to balance it out if it is. Even if it isn't, it's not that big of a deal. It will make it feel lighter for sure, but you get used to it. I've cut many Camerons (and other putters) down over the years.

You should be adding 15-20 grams of weight to the putter head to keep the swingweight consistent.

YUP! I cut my Newport 2014 down an inch and I didn't really notice all that much difference. I am actually putting much better with it.
