Arborist
Looking for an arborist to come take a look at one of our trees. Not sure if it needs any work done or not, so we are looking for someone to come and do an assessment, before we decide whether to get anything done.

If you need to take it down, call Meg's Tree Service. They charged me $500 for a 30yr pine (included root grinding to 12" below grade).
We cannot direct the wind, we can only adjust our sails.

Typically the city will only come if the tree is dangerous to the public or to property, and even they you are hard-pressed to get action. I had a 30' maple 3 feet from the sidewalk in Sandy Hill, that got severely damaged during the ice storm and subsequently beaten up by summer storms the following year and it took several calls to even get on the list of trees to visit - which is very long BTW.

I have used Davey Tree Expert Co. for years. They have an Arborist on staff who will come and do an assessment of tree and give you options and prices. Have used them several times in the past 25 years and my parents used them before that. Gave me an honest assessment on my Ash which was bitten by the Ash Borer. Said he could treat it but best to cut it down given the plague in the area. He could have made much more by treating but called it as he saw it. Nothing more you could ask from any service provider (613-831-0225).
