Cutting and inch my Scotty Cameron Putter

Shipped my putter Via UPS from Ontario Canada, to Scotty Cameron Custom shop .Had a inch taken off my 34 inch Newport Notchback, and the weights changed to 20 grams and the stock grip replaced (mandatory). The cost of the custom work was 45$ for the weights and 15 for grip .I had free shipping one way because the store I had purchased the original putter from, shipped it for me for free.
My final bill today in Canadian dollars came to a total 0f 182.66 for me to see my putter back again with customs, duties and taxes.
Should have installed the Chinese weights I bought on e bay and had it done here .Unbelievable!!!.
Thought we had free trade with the USA.

Why would you not bring it to a club maker to have it cut down? Just curious.

When you cut 1 inch off your putter in order to keep the correct swing weight you need to change the 2 weights on bottom of putter in this Case from 15 grams to 20.you can buy weights on line but most are imitations so dumb me figured I better stick with the real ones which only Scotty Cameron controls.
I also figured after clicking ok just under 100 dollars on the Scotty Cameron web site for grip ,weights and which included the return deliver I would be paying that amount.

You are probably paying tax on the insured value of your putter, not the $60 of work you had done. That has happened to me before. You have to appeal it to FedEx and they will refund the money.

I would have done it for much less.
    Obviously you're not a golfer.

Difference is only 16 dollars and they want 90 do open an appeal. In that price I had free shipping there. Even coming back Scott put the value of repairs or something at 125 and had to pay 31 extra on arrival plus the 40 I paid to ship it from there .I just feel ever thing should have been included when I clicked on payment on Scotty website. I have bought things on e bay from the states and never had to pay an extra nickel.
