Rare iron shafts - Element 21 Scandium Shafts
FOR SALE: ELEMENT 21 SCANDIUM SHAFTS
These shafts are a very rare find. They're made of Scandium alloy, hence the 21st element. They came with a set of Miura irons I purchased second hand, and they were said to be a 150.00 per shaft charge?!
These shafts were said to outperform just about everyone in distance and in accuracy, but they never made it to market, I believe because it was too expensive to manufacture. They're quite an interesting story. If you google them, you will find some interesting reads. Here's some examples:

I think the shafts are cut-down 1/4 inch from standard, but am not 100% sure...I could measure them if interested.
They were sold to me as "stiff".
The shafts and the grips on them are in great shape.

Not sure. He had some Nippon 850GH shafts put in the Muira irons that had these shafts in them originally...and I think the 850GH shafts were in his Tour Preferred TM heads previously. So I think that would mean they were ok for .355 tip, but I don't have the tool to check.

Dont suppose you'll be heading down the 401 past Kingston/Napanee anytime soon?
If you are, i'd like to work out a deal with you for these shafts.
Drop me a pm if you're heading this way.

And for the first time in history
we can have the same shaft used in either parallel
hosel heads or a tapper tip heads. This can only
be done because of the unique features of Scandium by lightly belt sanding
the outside diameter
of the tip after trimming or by using an end finisher in our OEM factory.Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

cool read...lots of technology in these shaft. Thx.
I still have them, not sure about tip size though, sorry. They had Miura heads on them, and I believe they're .355.

Still have them, but they're packed away and will not be coming out until the spring when I pack-up about 100 boxes and move. I have a whole bunch of golf stuff to get rid of. I plan on doing that work during the kids March break (mid-March). I'll look to post stuff then.

Hi Lucky, Thank you for the quick response. I would like to make a commitment to purchase the e21 Scandium shafts. Having moved in the last year as well I completely understand how certain items are packed away and/or out of reach. I can send you 1/2 the payment now if you would like as to guarantee my commitment. Thanks Joe

Hi Joe, Are you located in Ottawa or the US (Oregon)? I have some interest locally (Ottawa) and would prefer the simplicity of dealing with someone local. If you're not from here I can each out if the local interest does not buy.
