    Portable golf simulator setup?

Is it possible to install a Protee or GGS in a portable enclosure with a screen? I like the looks of them and am wondering if it's possible to set them up in an enclosure that can be moved? I'm also wondering how entertaining and accurate they are with just the sensor mat. Can I start out with just the mat and upgrade later to the camera's?

I guess anything is possible if you can build the right enclosure. But to be honest, I can't imagine doing this. It would require a lot of work with setup/tear down time. With cameras, two overhead lights are needed. If you build an enclosure that can easily be setup or take down and transported, then sure it's doable.

With just the sensor mat alone, it will be entertaining but not realistic enough for the avid golfer. You can add cameras later.

    Btw bubba22,

how did we get from Holiday golf to portable simulators? Perhaps a new thread should be opened and some of these comments be moved?

Sorry about the change in topic. I started the thread and just kept going with my questions. Most of this could be moved to a new thread. Sorry

So if I could build a portable enclosure which system would set up and tear down easier and faster? Pro Tee or GGS ?

Same for both. I just finished testing the TrueGolf prestige and must say was impressed. http://www.trugolf.com/golf_simulato..._simulator.php For portability it looks nice. It can be teared down in an hr or so.

I take it you're writing up the review at the moment?

    kwass,

If you had an enclosure like the Prestige, you can easily modify it for Protee or GGS.

Would an enclosure that open work for a system like the GGS. Wouldn't ambient light be a problem?
bubba22 I'm very curious to find out how you think it measures up to the Pro Tee and the GGS.

I would say as accurate, but no more so. The E6 softeware I do think is more forgiving than the Protee/GSA. With the Protee/GSA you are able to control the spin amongst other things whereas the E6 will only allow control of distance. Overall I liked the Trugolf but certainly no more accurate than the others. Here is the review http://forum.ottawagolf.com/showthre...urements/page3

Yes, it would be a problem if you're using the system with too much ambient light, especially with cameras. These shadow systems, including the Prestige, require the surrounding light to be dimmed or off. The opposite side of the LA cam needs to be dark.

GGS systems such as the ADX or VX might work better in a portable enclosure.
