Nfl 2011
The new season is upon us. I jumped in a suicide pool this year, lets see if I make it past week 1.
I am not optimistic about my Bears this year, but like any deluded fan I still think they can get in the playoffs.
Stupidest rule change in history this year, kickoffs are 5 yards closer, kind of neutered my main man Devon Hester.Last edited by Sakuraba; 09-08-2011 at 11:08 AM.

I am so excited I can hardly contain myself although my 49ers are destined for last place in their division I fear.

If I had picked Chicago for week one, I'd still be in my suicide pool. Instead, I stupidly took the New York Pansies and I am out week one along with half the field

Now, just as I was firmly on the post season bandwagon, and Cutler has never looked better, he breaks his thumb tackling. I thought he made some really great strides as the team leader, and the O line is looking better and better, now this.

I feel bad for Houston and Chicago fans. They'll make playoffs but hard for them to make superbowl now.

Remember, Lovie Smith got a very similar Bears team to the superbowl with Rex Grossman at QB. Can Caleb Hanie be that much worse?

Patriots are still hanging in there despite many injured players. If they lost their QB, though, the jig would be up.

The Patriots looked as if they'd be beat up by the Eagles when they took a quick 10 zip lead in the early part of the first quarter. The Pats turned things around quickly and ran over them after that. Brady was outstanding, but the player that really caught my eye was Edelman. He played both ways, and was particularly effective on defense. For a relatively small guy he packs a mighty wallop.

Given the way the Eagles secondary blew coverages and sat back letting Brady pick them apart with 10 yard passes, I'm not sure why they didn't dial up a few more full out blitz's yesterday and at least try to rough Brady up a bit.
On the offense, it looked like Reid gave them the week off. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I have no idea how Young racked up 400 yards passing. I can't find a stat for dropped passes, but Jackson must have had at least 3 crucial ones yesterday. Not a great way to help your case in upcoming contract talks.Let's put a Smile on that Face!

3 points? 3 lousy points!?!? HANIE!!!!!!!! It would have still been a close game if it weren't for that hail mary garbage that ended the 1st half.
I think my bears could be on the outside of the wildcard race. I hear Donovan McNabb is looking for a job?Andrew

Never liked him when he was a Gator but I am rootin for Tebow to establish himself in the NFL. His passing is horrible, he throws while falling backwards most of the time, but late in the game when the other team goes into the prevent defense he shines. Why do teams go into prevent???!!!????
I think Pats win 24-17 next week vs Broncos. You only get out of something what you put into it

With the speed, skill and size of many of today's receivers, defensive coordinators use the prevent defence to stop the offence from making a quick score. The problem is that with all but the most incompetent offences that usually allows the other team an easy way to quickly march down the field to score in any event. Why do they do it? Because they are conservative by nature, and they do not want to get beat using a strategy that no one else uses. Since every other team uses the prevent, they'll continue to make use of it even if it hardly ever works.
As for the Pats and Broncos, I'll make no prediction since Brady has not been his usually sharp self this year and the Patriot defence is abysmal. All I know for sure, is that I'll be biting my nails again next week!

Pats are staging a comeback after being down at the end of the half 17-0 to Miami. These guys never give up.

Donny, what are the Falcons' chances of beating Saints in playoffs (if they face each other again)?
I give them a 12% chance. You only get out of something what you put into it

Well I'd say 10%.
They're quite** about the Saints running up the score so Brees could get his record on MNF instead of this weekend.
