Should be no different than any impact screen.

Impact Screen
Building a 24 X 32 multipurpose building which will contain my simulator. I'm really excited about the whole process. The forum and all the photos have provided all kinds of ideas about what I would like to do considering I will be starting from scratch! Thanks to everyone.

Have fun with the project TVANS216. Enjoy the end product especially in the winter.

Welcome to the forum TVANS216 - glad to hear that we have another DIY'er aboard!
To all of the members, I am hoping that this thread can be the main thread for information on impact screens... what do you think?
On that note, I have a chance to get a high end impact screen material that would retail at about $3/sq ft. I would have to order a huge quantity, so I would like to see what the interest is right now - if you think it is a good idea and/or would be interested in getting some, please email me at cory@par2pro.com.
OK, time for me to get some sleep!
Cheers,
CoryLast edited by Par2Pro; 08-26-2010 at 01:23 PM.

Storage of this material may be a bit of a problem, so I will need to get a committment from a few people before doing so.

What would be the dimensions of this material? Can it be custom made to dimensions we desire?
-

I would be buying a pieces that are 126" wide by 300 feet. It would be just plain raw material, so you would have to do whatever is neeeded to make it work. I guess I would sell pieces that are 126" x whatever length you want.
This is really for the dedicated DIY'er and the only warranty would be on manufactuer defects of the material (which, knock on wood, has never happened with this material).
Hopefully that helps.

I'd be interested in picking up a 126x150 (10.5' x 15'). Looking to put something together before the cold weather hits. Are we talking about cordura or something else? what are the specs?

Hey Nigel,
The material is a custom made blended material that is similar to the P3ProSwing's N4 Impact Screen.
The specs are a 'trade secret' - it is kind of funny that the industry holds the impact screen material secrets as well as magician's hide their magic act secrets . I guess it makes sense though, as if they give away their 'secret-recipe' then everyone would just copy it (sort of how KFC stays in business right? LOL)
Anyways, the screen is pure white, seamless up to the 126" and can handle real balls up to 250 mph without any reinforcement in behind it. It has been tested over 3 years and has held up very well. Also, the material is washable, which is a huge bonus (just make sure your seams / hems are done properly).
Anyway, if you are intersted, just email me at cory@par2pro.com and I will see how long it will take to get to you.
Cheers,
Cory

Hey All,
Just to let you know, that I did get the screen material in - what a large heavy roll!!!
Anyways, if you want to get some just let me know or I have also put it on the new online store:
http://par2pro.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=98
PS: I am just working on putting a multi-system practice / play / test center in our front room which will feature this material! I was able to convince my wife by committing to put a 2" underlay and soft turf so that our future kid can play in there too (we may even put in a climbing wall!). I have attached a picture of the room that we are working on.

Cory,
Is it possible for you to add grommet on the top edge?
-
09-28-2010 09:30 PM #15
Hey Kball,
I am definitely not a 'grommet master', so the ones that I have done just have not been that pretty
I can send you a grommet kit for $20 or you can pick one up at your local hardware store.
Hope that helps,
Cory

Just ordered an impact screen from Cory to replace my old one. I can't say enough about how helpful Cory is. Everybody should buy from him and pick his brains about all your sim options.

Mine had a seam and I just ordered one from Cory. I am going to get it sewn onto my existing piece to have a double layered screen. Very excited .

I just got it today. Thanks for the speedy delivery Cory. It looks much better than my old impact screen. I am going to get it prepared tommorrow which will take a few days. I will use my old screen behind it to have a double layer. Very excited. Will let you know.

Just got the impact screen material from Cory (Par2pro) and my first impression is fantastic. The material looks superb in feel and looks. I am on the process of getting it prepared so once done will report back. Very, very happy with the material and price. Thanks Cory!!!

How does it compare to the cordura, Bubba? It will be interesting to see if the image is better on that material. The denser the better, in my opinion.

Feels nicer than the cordura I have. It looks great. I am going to get mine sewn onto the existing cordura that I have so it will be a double layer of material. Cory's screen seems firm but soft and I think it will be very receptive to golf ball and br more silent. The double layer should help with the sound at impact as well as the visual appearance/brightness etc. Should be done in the next few days and I'll post some pics.

Thanks, Bubba. I have two layers of cordura now, but the seam bothers me a little.

My olf impact screen had a seam and it does show. For visuals the seamless screen would be better. I'll let u know soon.

Impact screen is quite nice. I am very impressed. Thanks Cory. It looks great, it is seamless and there is very low impact noise. I would highly recommend the screen. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Received my screen today. Love how white it is, and without a seam. I can't believe how thin it is, too! My wife thinks a real ball will go right through it, but I said it must work if Corey endorses it. I plan to set it up this weekend.
