pledge to charities
I pledge $5 for every birdie I make this golf season, and $20 for every eagle to go to a registered charity in Canada. At the end of each month, I'll tally up the birds, and make the gift. I think this is a great way to motivate myself to shoot lower scores, and not feel so guilty about playing so much golf.

I'm in but just so I actually have to contribute something, I'll add $1 for every cuss(that you wouldn't say at work) or thrown/slammed club. ($1 because I don't want to go broke.

If it was $5 per bogey i'd have to get a loan at the bank.

i added up my birdies from last year. i found 22 scorecards, a total of 10 birdies and no eagles. 18 holes (x) 22 rounds = 396 holes. so i had a 2.5% chance of making a birdie last year. very sad statistic.

I had my first Eagle last year and likely around a dozen birds for the year. On the day I got the Eagle I had also gotten two birds. I was on fire until my golfing buddy said I was on fire - then the wheels fell off.

5 rounds, 90 holes, i've walked about 30,000 yards without a birdie. i'm getting pretty ticked off.

Only played once so far, Sunday at the Canadian.. No birds - but 5 tap-in pars which is better than I expected for this time of year with limited range time.

I hit all the par threes and 2 of the par fives in regulation. Only had one three putt all day - which is nice.
I think I said earlier in the thread, there's always a chance I may not have to contribute anything all year. I note that not many people have subscibed to this challenge.

I'm thinking that my Skycaddie will really help my scoring this year. I used it to range-in all of my par threes and on the par fives used it to figure out what iron to hit to get me to the 100yd marker on my second shot - once from an adjacent fairway. The skycaddie isn't even totally set up for the Canadian so this weekends round at Greensmere will be revealing - and maybe very good for charities and expensive for me.
I'll get my fellow Greensmere member/foursome to step up to this cause.
Don't think I am playing better than you, NoKids, even with five pars I ended up with a 97 with about half a dozen lost balls (off the driving tee)

Nokids - 1
Stevek - 1
Rolled one off the pin yesterday at Greensmere Premiere #12 (Black#3) and it stayed at less than 2 feet for an easy First Bird of the year.

Pablo, if you play today keep your score and equitable score, today HC starts.
EDIT---Mr. Foddz has told me that I cannot even keep track of the dates so maybe I should pay better attention when I write down my scores tooLefty Lucas

I'm glad I can't keep track of HC yet. I had to give up yesterday after 14 as my back was sore after 7 hours of driving and a cut on my hand reopened and I started bleeding like a stuck pig. (Good thing I had a red golf towel)

Great to have two more participants! Good luck to all. So do we give our money to our own charities or do we pick one.
