Ottawa Citizen RD#3 - Marshes
Anyone know what the yardage is for tomorrow's round? Any guesses on the cut line?
Good luck to all players!

Cut
My guess is 240 or 241. Top 36 (Tied 33) averaged 80/round=160 so far. Maybe a stroke higher with the added length of the Marshes. Maybe another stroke higher if it pours rain all afternoon.

I was (pleasantly) surprised to see that they're playing #2 off the whites. The hole is almost manageable from up there!
I played a practice round yesterday and played well... hopefully I can maintain the good form to get one more free round of golf in at Rivermead on Friday.
As for my guess at the cut line... I'm T33 right now and I'm thinking something in the 77 - 78 range is going to be required. The Marshes is an easier course than either KL or SB IMHO.

Cut line will be 242, it will be a long day in the rain.

Does anyone know if it's walking, or are carts mandatory at The Marshes tomorrow (wife is playing and was wondering).

Just looked out my office window and no rain yet. It looks like there is a reasonably strong wind though.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

You don't know how bad it sucks having a window that looks out onto a golf course when the weather is nice.
I will probably see the wall of water coming as well since I also look down the valley. Corner offices rock. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Just got back from Round 3 at the Marshes. I (somehow) shot a 77 which I think puts me in a tie for 21st. The cut line ended up at 243 with, I believe, exactly 36 players making the cut.
After starting with a double on #10 (into the wind) I thought this might not be my day. But I made 3 birdies on par 3's including a 35-footer on #15. I hit a few scruffy shots but generally got away with them. My putting was very good again (aside from the missed 2-footer on #16... DOH!)
Bussiere shot a 78, McGee shot 72 and Koski shot 75 I think. So Bussiere's lead is down to 3 and I'm now only 24 shots out of the lead.
I ended up teeing off about an hour after my scheduled tee time and we were further delayed by pouring rain at around 3pm. Play was suspended and we resumed at 4pm.
Conditions were pretty tough as the wind was up and the course was soft due to the rain. I hit 4-wood for my 2nd at #13 (par 4) from about 195. 4-wood again at the par-3 17th from 200. 4-wood for my 2nd at #6 after a pretty solid drive (that came up 30 short). It played LONG.
I've got a 9:45am tee time tomorrow at Rivermead...

Nice round Mike - shooting better than the current leader is always good. Good luck tomorrow.
