courses open friday / weekend
I called Nation and the recording said that they plan to be open riday. I called Outaiouais and they are a "maybe" for Friday. Hammond is closed for the year.
Any other intel on courses within an hour of ottawa? I'm dying to play Friday.

Since you seem to be looking east, I would also try La Cite in Hawkesbury and Heritage in Lansdowne, Ontario (off the 401 near the Ontario-Quebec border - not the same as the Heritage course in Quebec listed on this site).

I believe Copperdale will still be open once this little bit of snow disappears. I can ask tomorrow when I'm there.

Meadows advised "call us in the morning, there is still snow on some of the fairways".

closed or open
There's still a lot of snow on the Meadows fairways - cancelled a mid morning booking. They seem to be taking it on a day by day basis. I was advised they'll be closing for the season on Nov. 9.

Just got home from 18 at Greensmere. Some snow that had drifted in some of the shady areas and a couple of greens still had a bit but by now all the greens should be free of snow. Beautiful day to end October. Now for some good days next week and hopefully through the next month. Well worth it today and a few people had taken the day off to play. They plan on staying open as long as the weather will let them.

I am reluctant to mention this (you know I would never gloat), but yesterday I took a vacation day and played in 18 degrees, sunny weather. Two hours and 45 minutes after teeing off, I finished with a 3 over 75. The course was in excellent shape. The greens were fast and true. Life is good ..... without snow.

La Cite in Hawkesbury was in beautiful shape today. They are not taking tee times but are open beginning at 11 tomorrow. The greens were punched last week but they know how to do it right on this course
